Video Content Lead
Job Description
High-quality images and engaging videos don’t just catch the eye—they forge an emotional connection with an audience, making a brand unforgettable. Whether it's an informative product shot detailing a tool’s specifications or a behind-the-scenes glimpse at how our products are built, these visual elements are key to showcasing our high level of technical rigor and precision. Now, imagine a videographer who not only understands how to capture stunning visuals but also deeply understands the craft of hand tools. This combination is not just an advantage–it’s transformative.
We need someone who truly understands how our tools are used in real-world scenarios–someone who knows what it’s like to be working under their car, covered in oil, only to find they don’t have the right tools for the job. We’re not just looking for a camera operator who knows how to make our tools shine in a frame. Rather, we need someone who can authentically capture the true impact of our tools and effectively tell our story.
In this role, you will help Tekton write, direct, and edit original videos and photos for our YouTube channel, social media platforms, and product pages. Whether on-site or off-site, indoors or outdoors, you must have the creative vision to plan and lead all video and photo shoots. You will combine your personal experience with hand tools with your technical knowledge of videography and photography to showcase the quality of each tool and highlight the dedication behind their creation. It will be your job to create a distinctive brand voice that connects with our users and highlights what sets the Tekton brand apart.
Responsibilities
- • Work directly with the Photography Team Lead and Director of Branding and Content to create videos that tell Tekton’s story, including tool demonstrations, manufacturing processes, and culture highlights
- • Experiment with new techniques and have creative vision for how to capture hand tool users’ trust, respect, and attention
- • Accurately represent the trades and present visuals that display real and authentic hand tool usage
- • Lead the creative direction for on-site and off-site photo and video projects
- • Coordinate and foster an outgoing, comfortable, and organized environment for internal and external teams involved in photo and video shoots
- • Prepare and neatly organize image files for Tekton.com and e-commerce websites
- • Maintain and add to our media equipment as necessary
Indicators of a good match for this role
- • You thrive on creativity and are constantly learning and testing new techniques
- • You can adapt to changing priorities and pivot without hesitation
- • You are good at communicating, observing, and listening to our inside team, users, and business partners
- • You are confident in your technical abilities and come prepared to meetings and campaign shoots
- • You are bold and take action on projects with minimal supervision and direction
- • You have the discipline and ability to produce consistent, high-quality photos and videos
- • You think like a mechanic and regularly use hand tools in your personal life
- • You take accountability for work results
- • You welcome feedback and can separate personal preferences from brand guidelines
- • You are able to manage several projects at once
- • You have exceptional values including honesty, integrity, and empathy
Qualifications
- • Competent with lighting design, camera equipment, Premiere Pro, and Photoshop
- • Know how to capture, edit, and prepare video and photography for web
- • Knowledge of camera equipment for video and photography, including lighting, grip and audio
- • Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
