No one candidate will be a 100% perfect match to our description, so if you thrive in a fast-paced, intellectually-charged environment and have similar experience to what we are looking for, we encourage you to apply.

HoneyBook is looking for a full time in-house video editor to join our creative team. We’re looking for a post-production pro to help us develop advertising and product education assets to connect with our current and prospective members. The ideal candidate is incredibly detail-oriented, passionate,  collaborative, and a master at media management. They quickly discern project needs and can execute many projects simultaneously. They love being in the weeds, value the nuances of creative testing, and  know how to work across multiple channels. Critically, they are not just an editing machine, but are eager to participate in brainstorms and contribute as a member of the creative team.

Like our members, we’re obsessed with our craft and all the details that go into creating an exceptional experience. We’re looking for someone who is motivated to grow by doing, an individual comfortable with responsibility, and someone eager to be a part of building a category-defining brand. This role will report to the Creative Director.

Here are a few of the things you will do:

  • Collaborate with producers, graphic and motion designers, copywriters, marketers, and product managers to edit video and audio for multiple channels and media formats.
  • Become a master librarian of our media, keeping systems and files organized.
  • Keep up with industry best practices and emerging strategies, constantly pushing for fresh and innovative ideas.

Here is what is needed:

  • You have 3-6 years of experience as a lead video editor, assistant editor, or equivalent with a strong portfolio that displays an ability to edit media across live action/lifestyle footage, animated type and illustrations, product/UI graphics, VO, sound, and music.
  • You can execute on a brief with little oversight, can cut content from scratch, reassemble iterations and cutdowns swiftly.
  • You have strong sound design, mixing, and color correction skills.
  • You have experience creating materials for marketing, understanding compositions and safe zones for typical advertising channels.
  • You understand video production and post-production workflows, video codecs and deliverable formats, transcoding, and are a stickler for clean media management.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • You possess a strong sense of curiosity and grit, have the ability to work independently, and have a preference for a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Complete fluency with editing software, such as: Premiere, After Effects, Final Cut, Avid, Pro Tools, DaVinci Resolve. Additional proficiency with Photoshop, Illustrator and Figma is desired. Experience with VFX and motion a big plus.

The good stuff:

  • Mission driven. You'll be joining more than just another startup—our members are at the heart of everything we do; in fact, we invite them to co-work in our office and collaborate with us on the product itself.
  • Impact. We move quickly and encourage every employee to push the envelope. Our best ideas come from out-of-the-box-thinking and innovation; be ready to fail fast and often!
  • Compensation: We offer a competitive salary + meaningful equity based on merit.
  • Benefits + Perks: From wellness programs to open paid time off and exceptional family leave policies, the health and happiness of our employees is foremost.
