About the role:

As part of our dynamic creative team, we are looking for an energetic, passionate, cutting-edge Video Editor who will work with a team to set the visual tone of voice for Whalar Group companies and key brand clients. You will work closely with the Content Director to bring our visual language to life. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cutting-edge creative and a drive to push boundaries in the creative space while balancing strategic business goals.

Here’s what you’ll do day to day:

  • Edit and produce strong video content (multi-platform in various aspect ratios), including animation, sound, and graphics.
  • Skilled operator working on several projects simultaneously, performing well under pressure, high demand, strict timelines, and/or live conditions.
  • Operate a wide range of assignments within the discipline associated with the job, including but not limited to logging and capturing footage, cutting highlight packages, and short and long features.
  • Create videos highlighting Whalar’s varied and exciting campaigns, marketing initiatives, awards submissions, social content, and special projects.
  • Create and assist in all editorial processes to organize video and sound files, assemble rough edits, address feedback, take video projects through finishing, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.   

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • 3-5 years of industry experience with a strong eye for producing content that cuts above the noise.
  • A creative thinker, comfortable creating content with a high, almost obsessive attention to detail.
  • An interest in and understanding of the influencer marketing industry and social media trends.
  • A curious, proactive, and can-do attitude. You handle obstacles and problems with ease.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to multitask, handle tight deadlines, and be adaptable and flexible to changes in priorities. 
  • The ability to interpret a creative brief and ask the right questions while remaining objective and open to others’ opinions - a true team player. 
  • Fluency in Adobe Premiere, AfterEffects, Adobe Creative Suite, Frame.io
  • Experience with design templates in Google Docs, Sheets, Slides
  • Someone with knowledge of principles and best practices for all social marketing channels
  • Videography skills are required - you may be asked to capture footage on-site from time to time. 
  • Photography skills are a plus but not required. 
  • Please share your portfolio link with content that demonstrates your previous experience and current skill set.

This hybrid role, based in Hudson Yards, NY, offers flexibility and collaboration, allowing you to choose any three days a week to work from our vibrant office. The salary range for this role is X - X and serves as a general guideline reflecting the potential compensation for the role. The final salary offer will be determined based on a comprehensive evaluation of factors such as the candidate's experience, expertise, alignment with the position's requirements, and, ultimately budget approvals.
