The Video Editor / Game Capture Artist will be involved with all phases of content creation for various game related projects. Working closely with the Creative Director, this role will be responsible for achieving deep familiarity with key video games, capturing specific in-game shots (using provided capture tools), and the entire editorial process from ingesting raw footage to polishing a finished piece. Project materials may also include live-action footage, dialogue, sound effects, music and graphics. The Game Capture Artist/Video Editor will also be required to understand the fundamentals and basic usage of After Effects.

Essential Functions

1. Work with creative team at the outset of a project to understand client's needs and specifications.

2. Create high-quality content from a basic or loose concept

3. Be a proficient "gamer" able to execute and capture specific shots.

4. Have a cinematic eye to capture well framed and composed in-game shots.

5. Edit! Trim footage segments and put together sequences of video content, add music, dialogue, graphics and effects, create rough and final cuts, ensure logical sequencing and smooth running

6. Regularly consult with team during the project timeline, from pre-production to post-production.

7. Manage media assets and archiving on all client projects

8. Create basic After Effects assets, including but not limited to titles, lower thirds, and bumpers

9. Modify and integrate existing, more sophisticated motion graphic assets from animators and designers

9. Continuously discover and implement new editing technology and industry best practices.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study

1-3 years of related work experience or other relevant experience

Preferred Education and Experience

1. Proven experience as a game capture artist and video editor with a strong portfolio of diverse video game client work.
2. Comfort working with a variety of video game platforms and programs used for video game capture.
3. Strong understanding of post-production workflow
4. Working knowledge of contemporary cameras, file formats, codecs, and their proper handling in a post workflow
5. High level experience with digital technology and editing software packages(specifically Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects and Adobe CC graphics)
6. Familiarity with integration of special effects, 3D and composites into video projects
7. Solid organizational skills, multi-tasking capabilities, critical thinking and creative problem-solving
8. Ability to work under pressure, prioritize and manage deadlines
9. Creative mind and storytelling skills
10. Great interpersonal and communication skills
11. Audio post-production experience is a plus (recording, mixing, scoring, etc.)
