Video IT Engineer

The Engineering team works on multiple digital properties at Fortune: from the editorial website to the conferences site, Fortune video portal, as well as our new product Fortune Connect. Our goal is to launch new products to build on our core competencies of content, events and education, in order to diversify our revenue streams; and to improve the experience and monetization of existing properties.

Video IT Engineer

Fortune Media is looking for a Video IT professional who can directly support the editorial video team, as well as the organization’s general IT support needs. The ideal candidate has experience in working with video infrastructures, including NAS storage, cloud archiving workflows, and media asset management ecosystems. Someone who can keep an eye on the storage levels and make sure we don’t start to red line, assist producers with application support, and work closely with our video integrators and consultants to make sure everything is running as expected. Experience with Xchange MAM system (formerly Primestream Xchange) is a plus. Someone who can brainstorm workflows that allow producers and editors to work with speed and efficiency. Assist with general IT support needs. Knowledge of Mac OS X and Windows systems, audio/video systems, Zoom, conference rooms. Experience working with employees of all levels. Systems admin experience is a plus.

Additional skills desired:

• Technical knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud products (especially Premiere)
• Knowledge of video file formats and codecs
• Experience with Mac video systems and products
• Experience with file sharing systems like Dropbox and Frame.io
• Experience with remote editing workflows
• Knowledge of Amazon AWS and Backblaze B2
• Ability to onboard producers to the MAM and other required systems
• Experience working in both Windows and Mac OS X operating systems
• Excellent customer service with employees of all levels, from associate to executive level
• Experience in properly maintaining and tracking computer assets and inventory
• Working knowledge of audio/video systems such as Zoom, conference room setups
• Experience using ticketing systems for tracking issues
• Experience coordinating with multiple outside vendors and ensuring issues are resolved in a timely manner

Location: NYC - Hybrid. Successful candidates must live a commutable distance from our flagship office in lower Manhattan

Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000
