Video Producer, YouTube

OVERVIEW

We are looking for a creative and experienced freelance video producer/shooter who can apply their skills to create a long-form video optimized for Morning Brew’s main YouTube channel. 

The role would require the producer to take the lead on every aspect of video production, from inception to final delivery. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical skills, experience being on-camera, and have a passion for storytelling. 

Applicants should be interested in and have demonstrable knowledge of the company’s core coverage areas (business news & stories about how companies large and small are impacting our economy and the world), Morning Brew’s current content and be able to identify stories that feel right for the brand. 

This is a 1 month contract role.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE WORKING ON:

- Pitch story ideas that align with the company's vision and audience interests

- Conduct thorough research that is well sourced

- Conduct expert interviews on background and on camera (remote and field) 

- Ability to produce, shoot, and host as on-camera talent 

- Write an engaging and informative script that suits the format, tone, and overall brand of the company

- Edit string out on Adobe Premiere

- Work closely with cross-departmental teams, including MoGFX and editors in post-production to shape the narrative

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Proven experience in video production (producing, shooting, and editing), with a strong portfolio showcasing long-form content

- Proficiency with video editing on Adobe Premiere Pro Excellent communication skills and excel at writing and storytelling

- Strong journalistic instincts and skills

- Familiarity hosting on-camera is ideal

- Ability to multitask, work independently, and meet deadlines 

- Knowledge of and keen interest in business-related news 

- Previous experience in pitching ideas and concepts is a plus
