We are currently looking for an experienced Team Leader Composite Design. In this role you will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of composite design projects within defined timelines and budgets providing strong leadership to the composite design team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to (Concept, Aero, Stress, Planning, R&D, Reliability, Electronics, Quality Control, Production..) to ensure seamless integration of composite design into overall car development and an efficient decision-making process.

Job Description

TEAM MANAGEMENT

Coordinate with Planning and Chief Designer to allocate resources effectively and ensure project milestones are met.

Responsible for people development within their roles, delegation and succession plans, ensure Senior Designers and Deputy Team Leader take full ownership and accountability of their roles and responsibilities.

Liase with HR Department for all people related activities within the assigned group: performance appraisal, performance development, recruitment.

TECHNICAL LEADERSHIP

Ensure current design methodologies are correctly applied and in accordance with Chief Designer, lead methodologies and processes improvement to get the best efficiency in terms of performance, quality and time.

Ensure, with the help of the Deputy Team Leader and Senior members of their group, that the assigned car parts are designed legally and in full accordance with Technical Regulations.

Provide technical guidance and expertise to the team, contributing to the development cutting-edge composite solutions for F1 cars.

Direct Design activity may be required as/if necessary

INNOVATION AND COLLABORATION

Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in composite and other materials and design methodologies.

Liaise with other Departments (Concept, Aero, Stress, Planning, R&D, Reliability, Electronics, Quality Control Production, Track side people, VPG..) making sure requests coming from them are always tackled professionally within the assigned group.

Work closely with suppliers and external partners to source high-quality materials and components contributing to the development of cutting-edge composite solutions for F1 cars.

Provide flexible attendance and attitude to work, both in line with the requirements of the role and any specific requirements of projects.

Qualifications

University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.

Extensive experience in composite design, particularly in the context of Formula 1 or high performance automotive industries.

Strong leadership and team management skills with a track record of successful project delivery.

In-depth knowledge of composite and other materials, manufacturing processes, and structural analysis.

Proficiency in relevant software tools such as CATIA, Siemens NX, or similar.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams.

Innovative, flexible and creative approach to problem solving, new disciplines and environments.

Ability to work under pressure to achieve targets and deliver results within required timescales.

Fluency in English (mandatory) and in Italian (would be a plus).
