Summary
The Visual Communications Specialist will actas a primary liaison between the stores and Customer Central corporate office, thereby influencing policy and procedural changes that lead to maximizing store profitability through the achievement of high standards of commercial display and presentation and ongoing development of branch personnel working within company policies. This individual should effectively exhibit JD Finish Line's core values of Customer, People, Winning, Community, and Financial Responsibility in everything they do by performing the following key duties:
- Takes a significant and strategic leadership role in driving and executing projects related to the assigned product category.
- Work within the Visual Merchandising Department coordinating product directives.
- Coordinate initiatives from brands related to the product category.
- Coordinate product windows throughout the JD/FINL Estate.
- Work alongside the Buying Team to implement the Buyers vision within retail.
- Work alongside the Merchandising Team to implement any product directives within retail.
- Work alongside the Marketing Team to ensure all product windows and interior presentations comply with current promotional criteria and are actioned and maintained to the highest possible standards.
- Ensure that all product merchandise is displayed at the correct price and that price amendments are completed promptly.
- Ensure product composition and layout within all stores reflect current seasonal and promotional criteria.
- Promote high standards of commerciality within the department across the JD/FINL Estate ensuring all display and presentation reflect the current guidelines in high stocked, exclusive and price pointed lines.
- Introduction and maintenance of coordinated product displays via both window and in store in line with company initiatives.
- Ensure all stores achieve highest possible product standards of presentation, reflecting company guidelines for densities of product, ticketing and uniformity.
- Ensure effective lines of communication between stores and Customer Central corporate office are maintained.
- The communication of new ideas and initiativesare encouraged to promote the ongoing development of retail.
- Ensure consideration is given to new stores and imminent refits.
- Stay abreast of economic/financial trends with the company and own category.
- Identification and development of key individuals in store through ongoing training to improve company standards of merchandising and display.
- Target training requirement of store management where further development is required in specific areas of product merchandising and display.
- Ensure ongoing development of personnel takes place to fulfil future vacancies.
- Test out product setups in lab/mockshop to ensure accuracy of displays.
- Travel is frequent and can fluctuate based on business needs.
- Support store openings with VM team, and lead in area of knowledge during the openings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience
1 - 2 years of management retail experience required, ideally in the visual merchandising space. Internal JD Finish Line experience strongly preferred.
Preferred Education
Bachelor's degree (B.A) from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Computer and/or Technical Skills
Basic to intermediate knowledge and abilities with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, or Google Suite
equivalents.
