Visual Communications Specialist

Project Background:

This program supports government efforts to drive disaster risk reduction and mitigation activities at the state, local, tribal, and territorial level (SLTT) through provision of risk data, outreach, technical and financial support. Programs include Risk Mapping, Dam and Levee Safety, Risk Assessment, Earthquake Hazards Reduction, and Mitigation Planning as well as numerous others.

Description:

Provides visual communication input to defined tasks focused on achieving an increase in public awareness and driving risk reduction action by implementing strategies nationally that provide stakeholders with a clear understanding of risks and promote actions to reduce those risks, building more resilient communities.

Required Skills:

1. BA/BS in business, communications or visual arts OR 3+ years experience in visual arts related field
2. 1 year experience building stakeholder awareness using visual arts
3. Demonstrated experience in effectively executing defined tasks focused on using visual communication techniques in improving communications and outreach to stakeholder community.

Desired Skills:

1. Government experience developing visual/web products
2. Adobe Creative Suite
3. Website development
