General Summary:
The Designer is responsible for helping to drive the conceptual and stylistic copy execution of program initiatives.
There is flexibility in the opening, and we are evaluating individuals from entry to experienced levels.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Partners with Senior Designer and writing team to assist in the development of each program's "big idea"
- Contributes to the overall creative process - offers input and shares ideas
- Responsible for delivering single-focus program design elements
- Supports Senior Designer throughout the development and execution of larger scale program initiatives as needed
- Assists in the development of brand design templates, standards and style guidelines including tone and manner for all media
- Maintains library of brand templates and style guidelines - updating as necessary and advising production delivery team on proper use
- Responsible for ongoing management of brand toolkit
- Ensures program deliverables align with approved creative and strategic framework
- Works with outside agencies and internal teams to ensure consistency of strategy and execution
- Presents/pitches creative concepts
- May perform other duties as assigned
Job Specifications
- College degree in Graphic Design, Communications or related field
- 2-5 years of professional advertising/design experience - agency experience a plus
- Ability to meet tight deadlines, work under pressure, demonstrate initiative and be self directed
- Ability to design within the constraints of brand standards
- Must have a solid design background and knowledge of both traditional and digital media
- Thrive in fast paced environment
- Passionate for the art of idea development and all things creative
- Ability to see work through from inception to production
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Works well independently as well as in a team environment
- Skilled in all design related software including Photoshop, inDesign, Illustrator and Adobe Acrobat
- High level of initiative and drive to evolve skills and succeed
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Portfolio website with professional samples strongly encouraged

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.
$51,300.00-$89,800.00
Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including performance-based incentives, healthcare benefits, insurance benefits, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not. All benefits are subject to the terms and conditions of individual plans.
