VMware Engineer (3769)

SMX is looking for VMWare Engineer to support our customer through a major virtualization system upgrade effort. This is a remote position supporting a Boston, MA based team with possible onsite travel required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• 1.    Procure and deploy general virtualization and NSX Health Check tools to provide analytics and information about the health of the environment.
  2.    Include a pending Vsphere upgrade (from 7 to 8) into the plans when analyzing VMWare & NSX resources. 
  3.    Work with the customer to deploy any OVA's required into the existing environment to perform analysis.
  •    Run the capture procedure for both virtualization and for NSX 
  •    Execute capture & analysis in conjunction with the customer staff, present to the customer.  
  4.    Resolve issues found during the analysis as well as be the lead technical resource for a Vsphere upgrade project review.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline however, years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
• VMWare expertise
• Deep NSX experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• System Administration
