VMware Migration Architect

Introduction
As an IBM Application Architect you directly help clients transform their business  and solve complex problems. You will define the scope and vision for projects that deliver customized solutions using your knowledge of IBM platforms.  You are a technical leader serving as a liaison among business partners technical resources and project stakeholders.

Your Role and Responsibilities
We are looking for a Cloud Migration Architect.
We use an agile cloud-native approach to empower clients to seize the full potential of the public cloud.
Your daily work:

• Acting as a technical consultant and architect for customers through project work focus area especially the VMware solutions
• Communicating designing and guiding the implementations for our customer cloud solutions as well as doing hands-on implementation together with the technical teams
• Educating customers on best practices in Cloud VMware (AVS VMC) and communicating solution offerings in a manner that customers understand the value within them
• Ensuring rapid productivity for our rapidly growing migration workforce in terms of high-quality delivery metrics reporting and business outcomes
• Helping and leading to the development of our migration and VMware-related competencies offering methodology and related software products further

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Experience and technical understanding of large-scale data centre migrations

• 6+ years VMware experience + VCP and VCAP certifications accompanied by hands on experience in migration of VMware solution to public cloud (Azure AVS VMC on AWS)
• Experience in administering and using VMware vSphere platform (ESXi vCenter vSAN) VMware NSX as a network virtualisation and VMware vRealize including vRealize Automation technology; knowledge of VMware HCX and other migration tools
• Capturing on-prem VMware configuration and capacity requirements coupled with design prerequisites performance and capacity planning for a Cloud-based VMware target environments
• Provisioning Cloud-based VMware environments preferably using IaC tools
• Applying VMware best practices in deployment monitoring security and maintenance as well as VMware Backup and DR systems
• Travel during initial phases of the projects could be expected based on customer and environment restrictions for limited periods of time (no more than few weeks).
• Fluent communication skills in English
