We are a growing team responsible for bringing the voice of the consumer to life to define and isolate friction in the consumer experience and elevate insights into the organization. By integrating and analyzing consumer feedback data including survey metrics and unstructured text - as well as behavioral and transactional data - you will enable our ability to monitor and track the overall strength and health of Nike's digital & retail experiences and programs including Nike App, Nike House of Innovation, Nike Run Club and more.
This hands-on role will help drive the future of Nike's consumer-facing experiences through innovative applications of our data and new partnerships with other analytic teams. This position requires a high-energy, self-motivated individual with deep technical and analytical skills, high detail-orientation and excellent written and verbal communication. Candidates with experience analyzing both structured and unstructured (open-ended comment) data are preferred.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with other analytic teams, business partners, and external research partners to find opportunities where we can identify and analyze consumer -friction to optimize experiences.
- Lead multiple sophisticated analyses end-to-end: partner with retail, digital, and membership insights team to develop the analysis plan (including sourcing new data), decide on scope and methodology, conduct analysis, synthesize findings, and support translating insights into practical recommendations.
- Leverage statistical models to identify drivers within data sets and correlations between data sets.
- Build self-serve dashboards to enable business partners to monitor consumer experience trends on demand.
- Go beyond the information that is readily available; pull in academic findings, standard methodologies and external market trends as you develop questions, hypotheses and analysis plans.
- Bring new insights to the table on how we can use our data and knowledge to answer questions we are not being asked, but should be thinking about.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Econometrics, Behavioral Sciences, Statistics, Applied Math or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Advanced degree a plus, but not required.
EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of professional experience analyzing first party consumer data and/or related industry experience.
- Experience working with physical or digital retail consumer insights or marketing functions is a plus.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Advanced SQL skills required. Experience in querying big data environments preferred (e.g. Hadoop, Hive, Snowflake, Databricks).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Proficiency with statistical packages such as R, SPSS, SAS preferred.
- Experience with machine learning models or natural language processing analytics a plus.
- Good communication, data packaging and presentation skills.
- A deep understanding of advanced analytic techniques, particularly those that relate to measuring consumer & business outcomes in a multi-channel retail setting
- Shown history of translating strategies, concepts and sophisticated ideas into analyses that are implemented accurately and on time
- Excellent project management capabilities to handle multiple workstreams and complexity; interest in thinking through projects in a process-oriented way.
- Demonstrated ability to influence decisions that drove business impact and/or improved consumer experience.
- Deep knowledge of the current retail landscape (digital and physical), including emerging trends, headwinds and the business models that are breaking through.
- Track record of being resourceful, identifying creative solutions and discovering new data sets/methodologies to answer business questions.
