Job Description
We're looking for the crazy ones that are going to change the world - if that's you - apply now.
Newchip is a virtual startup accelerator that provides world-changing early-stage companies with the software tools, training, mentorship, and the investor network necessary to successfully raise capital, build, and scale their businesses to eventual exit. We're in 100+ countries and have a portfolio of over 2,000+ startups that have raised $1B+ in funding since our launch in 2019.
Do you love Shark Tank? Imagine every day being like an episode but on a global scale, that's what we do. We recruit top startups and we launch virtual cohorts each month from our HQ in Austin, TX, with a goal of coaching each to a point of invest-ability. We then invest in our top program graduates alongside our 6,000+ investor network and support them until their exit.
-We are a veteran founder team with decades of experience, acquisitions and exits under our belts, and we're looking for the next member of our team that meets our core values and that can add their skillset to our melting pot of diversity.
-We are only recruiting driven, entrepreneurial, individuals whom are in it for the long haul to reach an IPO - leaders that want to truly assist startups to drive results that create investment returns to our investors and investor partner network.
-If you're looking to make a difference in the world and learn in 1 year what most learn in 5, we're here to provide the mentorship, leadership, and potential to make that dream a reality - if you're here looking for a 9-5, our company isn't for you.
Apply today to join the 100+ employees in our HQ in Austin, Texas, or join one of our remote teams around the globe at our offices in San Francisco, New York City, Boston, London, Los Angeles, Austin, Miami, Tel Aviv, India, and Singapore.
The Role
Newchip launches remote global accelerator cohorts each month across the globe in the Pre-Seed, Seed, and Series A categories. Due to massive growth in our remote programs during the COVID-19 pandemic, we are hiring a VP of Accelerator Programs to lead our Accelerator Program managers as we regionalize and specialize our programs further by industry and sector.
The VP, Accelerator Programs role is responsible for leading a highly specialized team to deliver our core accelerator experience, manage our investor/mentor/alumni networking and relations team, and drive efficiency through experience, process, and technology to continue to enhance our core program experience for our startups around the world.
You will be responsible for ensuring that each company in their respective program is positioned to maximize their success by leading cohort level group sessions as the front face of your accelerator, while behind the scenes continuing to build upon our differentiated content and programming experiences (ie, curriculum, Masterminds, workshops, webinars, 1-1 check-ins).
The 3 KPI's of this role are: % of startup completion of our rigorous accelerator programs (meeting graduation requirements), managing to budget, and increasing startup NPS. This role ensures that each team runs at high efficiency, that they have the resources for scale, and are hiring and training to always deliver above and beyond program experiences to our startups.
The ideal candidate is an excellent leader with experience in managing cross discipline teams to produce world class results. You must also be able to develop efficient strategies and tactics with a goal of ensuring that all programs deliver the desirable outcome to our organization utilizing the resources and budget aligned for your specific program and team.
Experience in startups and/or tech in a leadership role, a deep passion for startups in your assigned program industries (and desire to continue to learn and become an expert in a subset of industries around the globe), and startup fundraising and/or investment experience are a must for this role to be successful.
The idea candidate has experience in end-to-end product and or project management, including gathering product requirements, prioritizing feature implementations, and improving overall user experience (this is because you'll work with your internal team to build products and programming that fill gaps in market and increase startup satisfaction).
You should also be able to identify user needs and work with cross-functional teams to manage product releases in a cohort level model versus steamrolling new features through because a single user asked for it. Ultimately, you'll help us roll-out world-class programs and product experiences that deliver on Newchip's global vision efficiently and effectively.
The ideal persona is an exited/failed founder or prior founder/cofounder of a startup experience wise as it require skills in product/project/program management, startup industry expertise, angel andVC investment and startup fundraising experience. We understand not every candidate will have all of the above requirements so show your strengths in your application.
