VP, Accounting & Reporting Director

This position reports to the Nuveen Controller and leads several Accounting & Reporting teams, including Nuveen Reporting, Broker Dealer Accounting & Reporting and the Nuveen Revenue & Billing teams.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Oversees the preparation and filing of GAAP financial statements for external reporting with various regulators and debt holders on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
• Leads the team in the consolidation of Nuveen LLC's financial statements on a quarterly and annual basis.
• Develops and enhances processes that will assist in the completion of consolidated financial statements and various regulatory reports.
• Researches, interprets and documents technical GAAP accounting issues and compliance with accounting and regulatory rules and regulations.
• Oversees the Revenue & Billing team responsible for separately managed accounts.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION:

• 5+ years of GAAP, Regulatory and/or Corporate Accounting experience required
• CPA Required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 7+ years of GAAP, Regulatory and/or Corporate Accounting experience preferred
• BA/BS Finance Accounting
• Public Accounting experience
• Masters or MBA
• Series 27 and/or Series 99 or willingness to obtain license
• Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) (IFRS is a plus)
• Experience in the preparation of Audited Financial Statements in accordance with US GAAP
• Understanding complex consolidations
• Having deep knowledge of Financial & Accounting Operations
• In depth knowledge related to financial statement preparation and reporting requirements for Nuveen and other entities as deemed necessary
• Specific emphasis on GAAP and regulatory reporting or 8+ years corporate accounting to include experience in a financial reporting role
• Experience in financial services accounting functions including a proven track record of managing projects of a complex nature is required.
• Experience Managing or leading others

Potential Salary: $151,000.00 USD

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
