VP Advertising & Sponsorships

ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT This individual will play a lead role in helping VyStar Marketing develop, manage, and execute best-in-class advertising and sponsorship programs. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Sponsorships (60%):
  • Develop and implement VyStar's overarching sponsorship strategy including annual plan, budget, resource management, measurement/ROI, renewals, and new sponsorship opportunities alignment with VyStar's overall brand strategy and regional growth plan.
  • Serve as day-to-day contact for property and client teams for planning and execution of VyStar brand sponsorship programs.
  • Lead all aspects of overall project management, including timelines, project management tools, budget templates, and agency integration
  • Serve as liaison sponsorship activation on-site at events as necessary
  • Provide POVs and recommendations for sponsorship opportunities
  • Manage and optimize all media assets related to VyStar's sponsorship programs
  • Manage VyStar's ticket program
  • Negotiate new partnerships and serve as the day-to-day contact with sponsorship partners, lead reviews and senior executive report outs
  • Improve the effectiveness of existing sponsorships and identify new sponsorship opportunities for review by the Board and senior management
  • Create guidelines and criteria for new sponsorships which align with VyStar's "Do Good. Bank Better" brand purpose.
  • Lead, manage and delegate key activities such as partner management and on-site activations to contractors and agency partners


Advertising Leadership (30%):
  • Partner with key stakeholders across the business units, products, regions, and segments to understand their priorities, and the marketing and advertising needs necessary to meeting those objectives
  • Develop and execute strategies for advertising initiatives including insights and research, brief development, naming, positioning, campaign development, creative execution, user experience and customer journey mapping.
  • Develop and manage media plans that include both online and offline channels and drive awareness, preference and product sales and engagement. Balance brand and performance media and ensure campaigns and media spend are tracked and measured for effectiveness. Develop media plans with clear measurements and goals
  • Work with agency partners and outside vendors, providing direction that is clear and concise to develop effective advertising messaging and creative.
  • Proactively solve issues to ensure consistent breakthrough, relevant, consumer-centric creative; apply diversity principles to ensure advertising is representative of the members we serve today and in the future.
  • Partner with the Market Research team to conduct qualitative and quantitative research including consumer sentiment research, positioning strategy and communications/advertising development
  • Be a go-to expert on VyStar's brand standards and the application of those guidelines to all advertising
  • Manage legal and compliance approvals and ensure that the advertising meets all risk and controls.
  • Diligently communicate and manage timelines and deadlines


Other Responsibilities (10%):
  • Agency Management: Lead and manage VyStar's agency relationship across advertising, media planning/buying, and brand implementation
  • Budget Ownership: Develop and manage annual advertising, media and sponsorship budget
  • Special Projects: Performs other assignments as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in experience. MBA preferred.


EXPERIENCE
  • 10 or more years marketing experience with at least 5 years in Financial Services inclusive of:
    • 5-7 years of media planning, development, and execution -either agency/client side or both, across mass media, digital and diverse segments
    • 5 or more years experience in B2C brand strategy with experience leading teams, planning and delivering successful brand strategy, insights, and marketing initiatives across a portfolio of brands (a mix of agency and client-side experience preferred)


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Strong background in sports marketing; in particular, collegiate sports and athletics
  • Contemporary marketer who believes in the art and science of marketing and possesses the right balance of brand and performance marketing skills
  • A compelling storyteller who knows who to tell stories about brands to multiple audience experiences
  • A strong understanding of the complete brand management process and experience leading a campaign from start to finish
  • Experience leading partner relationships, including vendors, suppliers, and assets
  • Self-starter who will take initiative with new projects and work with a variety of people
  • Exceptional project management and budget management skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of full funnel marketing dynamics and integrated advertising, with experience across multiple media channels
  • Prior experience leading, coaching and developing a team of professionals, as well as working across indirect reports and cross functional teams.
  • Experience presenting to C-Suite and Board-Level executives
  • Excellent written and verbal skills; articulate, confident, and thoughtful
  • Experience with complex contract negotiations for sponsorships and partnership agreements
  • Deep financial acumen; strong quantitative thinking and skills; fiscally responsible
  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint
  • Experience with marketing tools and technology (martech) including marketing automation, CRM, project management, data analytics, digital asset management, measurement, and tracking (e.g. HubSpot, Smartsheet, Asana, Google Analytics, Datastudio, Power BI, Tableau.)
  • Able to handle changing priorities, make good decisions under pressure and use sound judgment
