WPP is seeking a self-motivated, individual capable of leading US and Regional integrated new business pitches. This person will be responsible for leading every aspect of internal pitch teams, made up from the  best of our agencies across creative, media, PR, design, data, production and more.  The VP, Americas Growth  will be required to manage the process of the pitch to ensure timely delivery of key milestones whilst also being a key strategic leader who will offer direction on our integrated story and strategies to win. The VP, Americas Growth will also be a first-class operator who is able to drive new business operations and will work closely with the EVP,  Global Growth to deliver on WPP’s purpose, convert inbound opportunities and innovate within our system for better ways to serve WPP and its agencies in their pursuit of growth. The ideal candidate for this role has a proven track record in leading a strong agency pipeline and must demonstrate high levels of organization abilities, strategic storytelling and business acumen.


The VP, Americas Growth will manage a small team including the Manager, Americas Growth and Coordinator, Global Growth (shared resource) with a significant emphasis on coordinating teams across our Agencies, WPP Operations and Creative Resourcing.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversight for key US and regional pitches including: leading status meetings with full pitch team, overseeing pitch calendar and deliverables, pitch storytelling, content editing, and all other details of pitch strategy, planning and execution
  • Oversees a compelling team culture for the pitch including motivating pitch experiences to help the team collaborate and grow
  • Leads strategic storytelling, including pitch themes and the deployment of creativity to differentiate WPP pitch experiences
  • Partner with specialist content creators to edit and simplify pitch content
  • Recommend appropriate pitch strategy, including development of pitch agenda, relevant case histories, meeting attendees, pitch theater and processes
  • Work with the pitch team to prepare pitch briefing materials, including business background research, internal kick off decks, client intel, org charts and more
  • Communicate regularly with all agencies and teams by way of a weekly and daily status emails and communications
  • Confirm right resources are in place / are engaged appropriately
  • Confidently lead creds/pitch presentations and complete RFIs
  • Leads engagement with the Americas Growth Community, organizing regular sharing sessions, though leadership share outs and social activities
  • Fields inbound requests and liases with Americas stakeholders to assign the right agencies to lead responses
  • Spearheads prospecting projects on major group targets
  • Supports other external communications and relationship building exercises including with Pitch Intermediatories
  • Other duties as outlined by the EVP, Global Growth

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in strategy, business development, marketing or other relevant role within a creative, media or digital agency
  • A proven track record of contributing to winning, competitive pitches at the highest level – either as new business lead or a senior contributor within advertising, media, or creative service agency
  • Balances creativity, business strategy and organizational excellence in pursuit of best-in-class pitch experiences.
  • Skilled storyteller and creative thinker
  • Excellent communicator and excels at building strong partnerships with clients
  • Highly organized, ability to manage time and prioritize tasks
  • Work comfortably & effectively in fast shifting and constantly iterating environments
  • Manage & deliver in high pressure situations
  • Ability to manage cross-functional pitch teams to deliver fully integrated proposals
  • Proven ability to prioritize, be assertive, detailed oriented, self-starting and a willingness to take ownership and follow-through
  • Willingness to travel (est. 20% of time)
  • Comfortable working in hybrid / agile environment. The Global Growth team is located in diverse global locations.

The base salary range for this position at the time of this posting is indicated below. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.
