Many brands and marketers are now focusing on the power of creators to drive sales, build community and improve ROAS. This requires a significant amount of understanding of how to work with creators, how omni-channel campaigns can bring creators “off the mood board and into the boardroom” and why creators are an integral piece for engaging audiences on TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Snap, and Twitch.
A viable candidate will have significant knowledge of media combined with strong written and verbal communication skills and analytical abilities that will shape how clients can build long-term, 360 creator marketing strategies. Using your relationship-building skills, you will become a partner (not a vendor) who can use data and insights to inspire, educate and deliver strategic ideas.
This role is for consultative sales experts. You understand your clients’ business objectives, anticipate how decisions are made, persistently explore and uncover the needs and objectives of new clients and can provide a persuasive story to help them understand how a partnership with Whalar can grow their business in a brand-safe way.
Understanding your brands and researching their current marketing needs and industry trends will be key to developing your sales approach. Whalar provides tools and resources to help you design and manage every aspect of the sales process, from lead generation to conversion. You will be responsible for every aspect of the sales cycle from initial deal identification, and ongoing client communication to final negotiations and upsell opportunities. This requires you to be a highly organized leader who pays attention to detail.
This role will require you to leverage your existing network of brand/agency contacts to source and present solutions that match the brand's business objectives and long-term vision. Other than identifying sales opportunities, you will represent Whalar at leading industry events and partner with some of the biggest technology platforms such as TikTok to present winning strategies to senior brand marketing executives.
You will work collaboratively with strategy, creator and delivery teams across Whalar to not only win programs but also ensure the best customer experience. You will need to be an adaptable learner who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:- Prospect, pitch and attract new business and clients (both direct to client and agency)
- Track and manage the sales process from lead generation to conversion
- Research, develop and present bespoke strategies to potential customers backed by relevant data and case studies
- Share the Whalar story and identify how our unique capabilities can help brands achieve their business and advertising goals
- Build long-term relationships with brands, partners and organizational stakeholders
- Negotiate and close significant six-seven dollar figure contracts with VP and C-level executives
- Accurately forecast revenue projections and build a robust pipeline
- Stay ahead of the curve on marketplace and platform trends relating to their clients' industries
- Be a spokesperson for Whalar at industry events
- 10+ years experience with detailed knowledge of any of the following business verticals: Automotive, CPG, Finance, Retail, Tech, Telco, Fashion, Beauty and Sports.Â
- 5+ year’s experience in digital media and/or creator economy with ability to translate client KPIs into actionable campaign strategies
- Experience selling bespoke marketing campaigns across social platforms and live/experiential opportunities
- Extensive contacts in C-suite across digital and social media (client and agency side) with ability to independently build a large pipeline
- Experience successfully developing, closing and managing large, customized content dealsÂ
- Knowledge of and relationships with Creators and Influencers is preferred but not a requirement

The base salary for this role is $150,000 - $180,000
