Role Description:
The VP, Business Continuity Management works to develop a comprehensive Business Continuity Management Program, including strategy, plans, and tool sets that develop resiliency, support response and enable recovery from events that disrupt business operations. This leader will ensure periodic review, validation, and process testing of documented business continuity plans. They also will develop and implement organization-wide training and communications. Additionally the leader will support audits and regulatory exams,
Core Responsibilities:
  • Establishes the Business Continuity Management Program across Oak Street Health including formal BIA and Risk Assessment processes, a cohesive response model, crisis management and communication mechanisms.
  • Perform in the role of Incident Manager for major incidents negatively impacting the Oak Street Health business or operations.
  • Conducts analysis of business continuity plans, business continuity scenarios, and tests/exercises by working with each function.
  • Provide visibility and reporting to the executive team on the critical components and readiness of the business plans, supporting processes and infrastructure.
  • Partner with other functions (e.g., enterprise risk management, internal audit, etc.) to identify new risks not covered by current BCM and ERM and create plans accordingly.
  • Develop relationships with all functions & businesses to drive appropriate actions and preparedness.
  • Collaborate with key personnel from integrated functions (e.g., IT Disaster Recovery, Crisis Communications, Legal, Security/Privacy, etc.) to ensure smooth linkages of activities.
  • Utilize a project management approach and develop tracking mechanisms to facilitate on time, on quality, and on budget execution of BCM initiatives.
  • Execute roadmap to improve processes/efficiencies, provide access to key data sources, and develop communication materials for the organization.
  • Responsible for identifying and solving complex problems by developing program strategy, project plan with deliverables, roadmap, and budget.
  • Implement programs that will have multiple work streams with governance, standard work, engagement campaigns and centralized metrics to show the significant impact on productivity or revenue.
  • Responsible for active management of all program issues and identifying those associated with program interdependence; escalates issues to senior program leadership as appropriate.
  • Partner with leadership to identify resource needs and key milestones for benefit achievement based on project plans.
  • Partner with change and communication leadership to incorporate key deliverables and milestones into the overall project plan; support communications and change management activities and issues.
  • Responsible for weekly, monthly, and quarterly dashboards/reports for program and functional stakeholders / leadership.
  • Leads other programs and related duties as assigned.

  • 10-15 years of applicable experience in program management and executive leadership roles.
  • Experience leading major technology and business programs.
  • Experience leading initiatives that include the development of new policies, standards and procedures.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking & analytical skills (e.g., proactive thinking, seeing the big picture, connecting dots, and sharing foresights and insights with senior management).
  • Experience providing work direction and guidance to team members.
  • Experience working in matrixed teams responsible for influencing and communicating across many levels of the organization.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with employees, consultants and senior management.
