VP-Business Data Architect

Nuveen has an opportunity for a Sr. Business Data Analyst & Architect (Sales & Marketing Data) - Senior VP. This role will report to the Head of Data Product Architecture and Strategy in the newly formed Nuveen Chief Data Office team. The primary responsibilities for the team include business process analysis, business requirements analysis, operations process analysis, system feeds/tables/data set analysis, data architecture analysis by deep diving into data products produced/used/transformed along the supply chain and produce insightful and data driven root cause conclusions, reporting, analytics, making recommendations and summarizing the results for executives across business, technology, and operations.

This specific role will be part of a SWAT team to perform time-to-market analysis and design solutions dedicated to unlocking the power of data to drive business outcomes. The primary responsibility will be to perform advanced end-to-end data analysis to resolve critical business use cases. This position will partner closely with business stakeholders in Sales/Marketing teams to ensure deliveries create tangible value for business and resolve pain points, and partner closely with engineering teams to advise and design innovative strategic solutions. The individual in this role, will be instrumental in building, applying, and expanding our data domain expertise in Asset Management, creating rapid response solutions to address existing critical and emerging business needs.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into achievable scopes and utilizing low code/no code tools to create and optimize time-to-market solutions.
• Provide domain expertise in Sales and Marketing data for Asset Management
• Build and manage end-to-end data analysis for data domains for prioritized use cases.
• Conduct business process analysis and root cause analysis to inform and create strategic business data architecture.
• Explore data in various systems built on various technology (i.e., SQL, big data, and cloud) to conclude analysis and drive action with sense of urgency.
• Build Business Intelligence Dashboards and Power Point slides to drive informed decision making.
• Design and maintain logical data models (i.e., system agnostic models), ensuring alignment with business goals, values, and outcomes. Ensure adoption of data governance standards.
• Provide requirements and govern the implementation of scalable and innovative data products.
• Recommend strategic and standardized solutions leveraging strategic platforms such as Nuveen Lakehouse, Security Master, Party Master, Account/Product Master etc.
• Partner with business, data and technology teams to document business rules, data quality requirements for the Nuveen Lakehouse.
• Manage stakeholders' expectations. Create and maintain transparency on prioritization, scope.
• Influence business and operational process changes to remediate data issues and prevent issues from recurring.
• Develop interactive and visually appealing data visualizations to present key business insights and metrics for the prioritized use cases.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience working in the Financial Service industry.
• 5+ years of experience analyzing business requirements, working with large data sets, developing, and implementing solutions.
• 5+ years of experience with data visualization
• 5+ years of experience with SQL.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience working with Alteryx, PowerBI, Tableau or equivalent tools for data preparation, blending and automation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years' experience working with Salesforce, Sales Page, Sales Connect, Broadridge
• Minimum of 5 years' experience working with reference data management.
• Experience in Data Domain Knowledge with Salesforce, Sales teams.
• Experience in collaborating with diverse stakeholders across departments.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to drive innovation and lead a team in a dynamic environment.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, math, statistics, or related field
• 10+ years of experience in data and technology
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure.
• In-depth knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data integration.
• Programing languages: SQL must, Python, SAS preferred.

Base Pay Range: $112,000/yr. - $160,400/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
