The aim of our Population Health Business is to deliver a software platform product offering that extends Evidation's population measurement and engagement capabilities to other B2B Customers with a custom-branded experience. We are looking for a tenacious, entrepreneurial, and strategic VP of Business Development to join the team, and lead the commercial functions within the business unit. A successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of building key partnerships within life sciences and healthcare organizations, and is excited to roll up their sleeves to manage the deal cycle from pipeline development and prospect outreach through successful deal close and account expansion. S/he will report to the COO and Head of the Business Unit, and will define the Population Health Business Unit’s go-to-market strategy, serve as a player/coach leader of the commercial team, and execute against a high-revenue growth imperative.
We expect this role to grow a team to cover BD/Sales, Customer Success, and Program Management for the Business Unit.Â
RESPONSIBILITIESÂ
- Develop Go-To-Market and sales strategy that executes against bookings and revenue growth targets. Analyze and gain alignment around new market opportunities for consideration.Â
- Prospect for new opportunities and build a robust sales pipeline through networking, lead generation, relationship-building, and lead follow-up, with an end goal of executing contracts and booking revenue. Maintain pipeline and provide regular pipeline and forecast updates to senior leadership.Â
- Work with marketing to develop channel-specific programs that increase the company's revenue opportunities and customer base.
- Collaborate with finance to build economic business cases for deals to ensure commercial activities align with market drivers, company milestones and objectives.
- Synthesize and deliver voice of market / customer feedback to internal teams to help define product offering and provide key input into product platform investments. Â
- Plan, recruit, lead and develop a commercial team over time to support efficient growth of software platform business and exceptional delivery of programs, including recruiting and maintaining high-potential business development, customer success and program delivery professionals throughout the sales and account management process
- Direct all aspects of the organization's business development processes and initiatives, and ensure internal alignment for all new business/revenue opportunities.
- Promote a customer-oriented focus internally and externally in all strategic and business partner relationships.
QUALIFICATIONSÂ
Minimum Qualifications:Â
- 10+ years of enterprise commercial leadership experience negotiating and closing strategic partnerships and major customer contracts, with a strong background in sales management and operations in U.S. healthcare or related businesses.
- Proven ability to develop and scale sales/BD organizations around software platform businesses, as well as developing operational processes for sales teams that drive overall effectiveness and efficiency as the company grows.
- Ability to navigate sophisticated relationships, be comfortable articulating the value of Evidation’s technology, and be able to navigate highly complex, solutions-oriented sales conversations with a variety of key stakeholders.
- Must be an entrepreneurial thinker and driven self-starter who is excited to roll up sleeves and manage the deal cycle from pipeline development and prospect outreach through successful deal close.
- History of taking a holistic approach to commercial activities – able to think about the business broadly and serve as the voice of commercial strategy on the leadership team within the Business Unit and at Evidation broadly. Â
- Track record of demonstrating resilience, tenacity, and ability to navigate ambiguity – willing to take risks, pursue opportunities with persistence, and invest the time and energy required to drive a complex and lengthy deal to a successful finish; Â
- Rich understanding of the healthcare landscape, including the value of patient data to stakeholders across the ecosystem and the ability to segment and prioritize customer segments based on industry knowledge;Â
- BA/BS degree required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Operating experience and functional leadership roles in both large and small company environments with decision-making ability in the face of uncertainty.Â
- The inclination to seek and analyze data from a variety of sources to support decisions and to align others with the organization's overall strategy.Â
- Relevant network of contacts within the healthcare ecosystem, including biotech/pharma and medtech corporations, provider systems, payers, and digital health companies.
- Experience working effectively with a variety of constituencies including senior management teams, strategic partners, venture capitalists, and board members.
