Position Summary:
The Vice President of Business Development is a strategic leadership role within Precision for Medicine, Manufacturing Solutions Group and will operate in a consultative capacity. In this position, the incumbent will create new and further existing client relationships that will result in exponential growth for the Company. This role is instrumental in building our sales pipeline through uncovering potential leads, nurturing those leads, and closing qualified opportunities. This will include building strong relationships with individuals at all levels within an organization.
Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:
- Represent Precision for Medicine, Manufacturing Solutions as a Vice President of Strategy and Business Development.
- As part of the Strategic Lead Generation team with a focus on East Coast, own and lead all activities from Lead Generation through Lead Nurturing resulting in a Request for Proposal.
- Support RFP strategy through transition to Steady State operations.
- Originate and lead attaining at least five (5) new clients or sites that have a high ideal client profile per year with over $1.5MM in total first year revenue.
- Ensure proper handoff to account owner after the successful close of a lead.
- Attend regional/national conferences and networking events to generate leads and to further relationships with new and existing clients.
- Be a thought leader in the biotech and biopharma industry by organizing and leading webinars, panel discussions, white papers, etc.
- Lead and support strategic initiatives to develop the Project Farma brand into the leading biotech consulting firm in the East Coast (i.e. actively participating in local regional marketing and industry events and organizations).
- Organize and attend regional account events to further existing client relationships.
- Lead generation of client proposals, RFI/RFP responses, team member resumes, client case studies, and other internal/external sales-related documents in an organized and timely manner.
- Be an expert in Project Farma client case studies and services.
- Lead client sales calls with new and existing clients.
- Maintain all sales data within customer relationship management (CRM)
- Ensure all sales presentations and materials are current.
- Lead and attend all weekly strategy and business development meetings.
- Mentor, train, and coach the business development team and others in sales and business development.
- Travel as needed to fulfill strategy and business development goals.
Qualifications:
Minimum Required:
- B.S. or M.S. in Life Science, Engineering, Business, or related discipline and/or comparable military experience
- A minimum of 15 years of advanced therapy, life sciences, pharmaceutical, or biotech experience
- A minimum of 7 years of managing a high-performing team
- A minimum of 5 years business development, lead generation, or sales experience
Other Required:

- Travel potential up to 100%
Preferred:
- A minimum of 5 years consulting and/or project management experience
- Ability to multi-task and be a self-starter
- Ability to adjust a self-run schedule to address coverage across different time zones
- Exceptional organizational, customer service, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
- Detail oriented and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficient with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and CRM (Salesforce) tools
- Must be able to read, write, speak fluently, and comprehend the English language
