VP, Business Performance and Strategy
Job Description
As Vice President, Business Performance and Strategy, you will lead Dotdash Meredith's Performance Marketing Operations and Marketing group. You will play a lead role in helping connect readers with high quality services across all Dotdash Meredith domains including in the financial, home, health, technology, travel, and entertainment industries. You will directly oversee and have primary ownership of the Operations, Analytics, Integrated Marketing, and Paid Media teams as you build a roadmap to hit and exceed overall revenue growth goals across the Performance Marketing P&L. This is a matrixed role. You will accelerate progress towards your goals via partnership with the Performance Marketing SEO, editorial, product, and monetization/business development groups. You will remain up to date on business performance and health, and communicate regularly to senior management. In this role, reporting to the SVP, Performance Marketing, you'll be a crucial part of the growth and overall success of the Performance Marketing Team and Dotdash Meredith as a whole.
In addition to general management responsibilities within the Emerging Markets vertical, the ideal candidate will build internal capabilities around acquisition media management, lifecycle marketing, and measurement and analytics. We believe that we are uniquely positioned at Dotdash Meredith to develop large marketplace businesses in health, finance, education, and/or travel. You will help develop and execute the growth strategy, which will take advantage of our brands, our customer acquisition capabilities, and our existing partnership relationships. You will play the lead role in working with Data Engineering and your own Analytics team to build a culture of data-driven optimization, accountability, and experimentation while also managing our Data roadmap to improve access and value of data.
About Your Contributions:
- Lead Operations, Marketing, and Strategy for Performance Marketing in partnership with functional groups and SVP, Performance Marketing.
- Own financial and operational KPIs, forecasting, understanding of key drivers in hits and misses, and prioritizes actions across the team to address them accordingly.
- Final decision maker on functional priorities and financial investments/cases.
- Creates strategic plans and operational roadmaps that grow business unit revenue via traffic, content, product, and monetization.
- Leads data improvement, utilization, and operations including lead decision maker on Data Engineering and Analytics initiatives.
- Works with functional groups to improve data-centric decision making and measurability.
- 7-12 years experience in Finance, Operations, Marketing, or Media Strategy
- Experience managing the P&L of a digital acquisition or affiliate business including for Top 100 Comscore media players
- Experience managing and optimizing integrated marketing programs for national brands including campaign strategy, media planning and buying, and measurement and optimization
- High level of analytical rigor and ability to manipulate large, complex data sets to find insights that tell a story, optimizing business performance and prioritizing investments accordingly
- Comfort and experience with data infrastructure and analytics including storytelling with data and partnering with data engineering to improve the state of data
- Strong conceptual understanding of key growth levers across the P&L including editorial, organic search, monetization and partnerships, with direct oversight of said functions preferred
- Comfort working across a matrix organization
- Strong executive communication-ability to develop and present a business plan
- The ideal candidate has a strong track record of finding growth levers and delivering outstanding financial results in the businesses they manage
