VP, Capital Solutions

The Vice President, Capital Solutions will serve as a key member of the Finance leadership team responsible for delivering value-added capital management solutions in support of enterprise-wide decision-making, maintaining ratings and achieving targeted financial results.  This position will be a key point of contact for capital considerations within our product lines, the organization’s overall capital metrics, and the development of different capital solutions to meet our company’s strategic goals.

This position reports to the SVP, Capital Management & Solutions and will interact with multiple teams throughout the organization as well as all levels of senior management.  This position will lead a team of professionals comprised of actuaries, finance professionals, and capital & ratings analysts.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Interact with team members of the F&G product lines to ensure capital is embedded into the decision-making process
• Understand pricing & organizational objectives to effectively assist in proposing capital solutions into both pricing & the organization’s capital projections
• Develop capital planning scenarios and solutions to assist in the organization to be able to manage our risk tolerances and work towards our strategic objectives
• Partner with key stakeholders to establish and monitor capital allocation framework, including development of reports to ensure appropriate utilization of capital in comparison to product line pricing
• Influence cross-functional teams to ensure organization’s capital needs are considered when solutioning complex problems
• Assist with Capital Committee meetings, agendas, and materials preparation
• Work with Risk & Investments to support Strategic Asset Allocation and Risk Analysis’ impact on Capital
• Assist product line pricing teams on implementation of new NAIC, regulatory, and rating agency capital model developments
• Conduct strategic analysis for future rating upgrades
• Conduct strategic analysis for capital planning and exploratory M&A
• Assist in coordination of reinsurance / restructure activities
• Ad hoc capital decision support requests
• Provide Capital & Ratings support to entire Finance team as it relates to future potential capital solutions to help meet organization’s strategic goals

Experience and Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Actuarial, Business or related field
• 15+ years of professional finance or actuarial experience in life & annuity insurance companies or consulting firms
• 5+ years of experience in capital management or reinsurance
• MBA, CPA, or FSA strongly preferred
