Job Summary:

The VP, National Category Development is a business development role focused on developing deep client and agency strategy leader relationships with the intent on opening new revenue channels for Clear Channel and growing spend from existing key advertising categories. This role requires an extensive understanding of the agency strategy and planning process, as well as a strong client marketing experience for the beverage and CPG category. This role will be deployed against specific brands, and key vertical targets, working alongside our national and regional sales teams to fill relationship gaps in coverage.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop scalable solutions for clients to optimize their advertising expenditures and maximize the use of Clear Channel products (e.g., Traditional Outdoor, Commuter Rail, Programmatic DOOH, Airport and Mobile), including innovation opportunities with Product teams.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by facilitating all aspects of the customer's account in cooperation with Creative, Operations, Marketing and Finance staff.
  • Generate plans to define business strategies and tactics, and support clients with advertising programs deploying all of our Radar suite of capabilities.
  • Exceed revenue growth targets, on annual basis for key verticals.
  • Identify incremental opportunities for CCO within existing customer, and verticals.
  • Identify new relationships with existing and new customers, coordinate coverage with CCO teams nationally, locally.
  • Navigate senior level client leads to secure business meetings on initiative-taking opportunities for CCO.
  • Leverage tools and resources to discover and connect with qualified prospects more effectively.
  • Utilize CRM system and manage sales pipeline to provide visibility to colleagues and management.
  • Conduct Customer Needs Assessments (CNAs) resulting in insights that lead to proposal opportunities.
  • Other projects and opportunities as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education, training, experience, or military experience.

Work Experience

  • Four (4)+ years of senior-level direct client marketing experience in CPG/Beverage vertical and progressive sales experience and success using consultative, customer needs analysis methods.
  • Media sales experience preferred.

Skills

  • Proven ability to consistently generate new business from 'scratch' -- identifying qualified prospects, securing meetings, conducting effective CNAs, uncovering opportunities, and shepherding them through closing and on to renewal.
  • Demonstrated track record of success selling business-to-business (B2B) products/services to enterprise marketing leaders and senior executives.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and social media platforms.

Other Requirements

  • Able to travel outside of the office at least 50% of the time for meetings and industry events.
