Job Description:

Job Summary: As a key member of the leadership team, the Chief of Staff is a highly visible strategic partner that supports the CEO with effective decision-making, project management, and execution of strategic initiatives. The Chief of Staff provides the CEO with a communication framework for employees and leadership team members. This position builds and runs cadence for leadership meetings, and offsite community meetings to deliver company-wide communication to the community.

Qualifications:

Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities:

1. Serves as the liaison between the CEO and the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to ensure consistent communication around organizational priorities and activities.

2. Provides a strategic sounding board to the CEO to ensure goals and objectives are being achieved, and priorities are being communicated effectively.

3. Serves as a thought partner and strategic advisor to the CEO, standing in on meetings, challenging ideas and offering a different perspective, and following up on action items with the executive team accordingly.

4. Meets regularly with members of the leadership team, receives progress reports based on organizational initiatives and direction; keeps the team focused and executing on organizational priorities.

5. Assists the Communications Department in the direction and development of various communications for the CEO (speeches, memos, letters, emails, reports, and other internal and external correspondence on behalf of the CEO/President); ensures consistency of messages.

6. Represents the CEO in meetings, by email, and phone calls with internal and external stakeholders and serves

as needed on boards, committees, and task forces.

7. Forms a strong independent point of view on "what it will take" to achieve company and business-unitspecific

operating goals, working with the executive team to understand potential gaps, defining plans to

address them and ensuring success.

8. Supports CEO/President in meetings by taking notes and assuming responsibility for the completion of action

items.

9. Acts as the liaison between the CEO/President and other executives and stakeholders to ensure consistent

communication and ensuring involvement or decision-making at the proper time.

10. Ensures timely and effective completion of projects and initiatives of the CEO/President.

11. Shapes objectives for, and manages operating cadence of, C-suite and executive team meetings - ensuring

the right topics are surfaced, at the right times, facilitating effective discussion, and documenting / managing

follow-up on action items.

12. Leads, executes and oversees projects that typically require cross-functional collaboration and resource

allocation. Provides project planning and management for the CEO's office projects and initiatives.

13. Leads the direction and development of complex presentation materials for internal and external

stakeholders.

14. Packages high-level briefs and organizational data to facilitate executive team decision-making and for

presentation to staff.

15. Identifies opportunities to keep staff informed of CEO, Board, and ELT communication to improve crossdepartment

communication.

16. Organizes special projects, events, and meetings sponsored by the CEO/President. Coordinates key messages

to stakeholders.

17. Manages CEO preparation for external meetings. Serves as liaison with others on behalf of the CEO/President.

Represents the CEO/President at designated meetings and functions.
