About the role:
Carbyne is on the search for a driven Head of Corporate Development and Strategy to identify and execute growth opportunities. This is a high-impact, highly visible role in which you'll work closely with our CEO and other members of the executive team to build a strategy for corporate development, identify and track transaction opportunities, execute deal processes from start to finish, and manage the post-transaction process.
In this role, you will drive M&A activities and investments, evaluate market forecasts and long-term trends, collect competitive intelligence, drive cross-functional business processes, and maintain business model innovation. You will work to synchronize strategies with corporate center plans, and translate long-term plans into short-term projects.
Here is what you will be working on:
- Build and execute a strategy for corporate development by analyzing our current state, assessing opportunities for improvement, and innovating to ensure predictable, repeatable, and scalable results that attract and delight customers, drive revenue growth, and increase profitability.
- Lead acquisitions and investments in new businesses, as well as execute divestments and divestiture.
- Develop a pipeline of corporate development opportunities: tracking, valuing, negotiating, executing, and following through to internal integration.
- Collaborate with the CEO, the executive leadership team, and key internal stakeholders to align to the company's strategic vision, expand the product's global capabilities, and drive steadfast performance.
- Act as a consultant for internal cross-functional teams through integration processes, collaborating with Product, Engineering, Finance, People, Legal, and other functions that touch these teams.
- Analyze market dynamics , market share changes, product line performance, and competitive intelligence.
- Identify key capital projects, joint ventures, potential M&A targets, and other strategic partnership opportunities, as well as strategic risks.
- Communicate strategy effectively throughout the company
- Ensure suitable metrics are in place to measure performance and progress.
- Monitor execution of business initiatives.
Requirements
- Experience in a Corporate Development Segment of the business for a growing organization, with a broad understanding of all corporate development functions and how they work together to maximize growth
- Experience in effective communication on strategic objectives and action plans to multiple teams across a variety of functions.
- Experience with working with a Tech/Saas industry.
- Stong leadership experience and ability to work with colleagues across multiple disciplines and in geographically dispersed locations.
- Proven success in evaluating, executing, and integrating acquisitions.
- The ability to set a vision, execute on strategy, and roll up your sleeves and get into the details when necessary.
