Role Summary/Purpose:

We are seeking a VP, Creative Director who has a passion for creating award-winning work and is an excellent conceptual and strategic thinker, as well as a natural collaborator, storyteller and a strong creative leader to join Goldmind, Synchrony's in-house agency. Our ideal candidate has exceptional design skills for all things digital, such as interactive banners, social media, email campaigns, landing pages, animations, presentations, consumer journeys and brand campaigns while working within a digital-focused environment. The Creative Director solves problems in collaboration with other creative directors, art directors, clients, copywriters, designers, developers, account team members and more. Key responsibilities include leading, directing and elevating creative to the next level for business platforms across the Synchrony enterprise that focus on internal and external B2B and B2C campaigns.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for concepting, creative directing and executing on a wide range of creative projects including but not limited to national advertising campaigns, brand identity, corporate events, environmental design, presentations, website design, social media, email campaigns and banner ads
  • Collaborate with clients, art directors, graphic designers, proofreaders, animators, videographers, photographers, 3D designers, digital designers, front-end developers and/or additional outside vendors as required/as they relate to a project
  • Mentor, support and lead creative team members; share knowledge; encourage collaboration, participation and out-of-the-box creative thinking to take the work and team to the next level
  • Present creative work to team members including but not limited to creative and account directors, external and internal clients and senior leadership
  • Conduct and participate in creative reviews; ability to handle multiple critiques and/or feedback
  • Work with account managers and project managers to ensure projects are clearly outlined and estimated as well as monitor the team's capacity
  • Question client/marketing strategy when it doesn't align with market research, follow the creative brief or meet the needs of the consumer
  • Follow budgets, timelines and internal processes for each project
  • Work expeditiously on a high volume of projects with constantly changing deadlines
  • Advocate for establishing and following best practices; ensure the team adheres to those best practices and offer creative solutions
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in fine arts OR in lieu of degree a high school diploma and 12 years of work experience in visual design and management experience
  • A minimum of 8+ years of professional advertising agency experience and/or work within an in-house creative team
  • Must be comfortable as a working manager and able to be involved in the day-to-day of projects when needed
  • Must provide a portfolio or work samples to be considered for the role

  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • HTML5, CSS and ActionScript experience a plus but not required

Grade/Level: 12

The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • N ew hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
