The Data & Analytics team is the engine that powers JPMorgan Chase with insights to create competitive advantages for our business and deliver value for our customers. We have unified data and analytics talent across the firm and encompass a variety of disciplines including data science, reporting, quantitative analytics, and data governance. Within this organization, the Decision Sciences team leverages industry-leading data-driven techniques to convert data into meaningful insights that enable the firm to drive value and an outstanding customer experience.
The Consumer Bank Sales Science team provides expertise in data science & analytics to improve productivity and optimize sales performance for our bankers across the firm. The team leverages industry-leading tools, processes and analytics to convert data into meaningful insights that enable Consumer Bank's sales leadership to drive value and an excellent customer experience for their business programs.
We are seeking a Vice President to lead assignment analytics and manage a team of dedicated data scientists. In this role, you will focus on answering questions such as which branch and which banker should a customer be assigned to, how many customers should each banker's book include to maximize effectiveness, and when should a customer be assigned to a branch banker vs. a remotely-located "virtual banker"? Reporting to the Executive Director of Consumer Bank Sales Science, you will also work with business partners to develop new strategies, tests, channels and regional/national pilot programs to improve banker effectiveness and customer experience.
The ideal candidate has a well-rounded skillset, as this role combines hands-on analytics work, team management, and independently owning business stakeholder relationships and communication.
You are a strong candidate if you:
  • Have a unique combination of technical skills, storytelling ability, and intuition to understand what is happening to data from inception to model to business decision
  • You have experience managing small teams of data scientists - but you are also willing to roll up your sleeves and code
  • Think R is more than a letter, Python is more than a snake, and Java is more than an island or coffee bean; you have programming skills needed for both the computational aspects of big data as well as working with statistical models
  • Like to focus on practically solving real business problems, not just boosting model performance curves
  • Are a strong communicator who can translate technical topics into intuitive business language
  • Have a track record of working with and influencing cross-functional business partners
  • Are excited about working in a fast paced environment with the ability to deliver at a high level while juggling a large book of work
  • Have a Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of experience in a related discipline or 5+ years and a Masters or PhD in related field.
