VP, Data Management Lead
Job Description
This role within the CCB Data Management & Governance organization represents a diverse set of responsibilities and offers opportunities to contribute thought-leadership on high-priority initiatives, with exposure to senior leadership. This role will play a key function in establishing the CCB Data Owner Center of Excellence within the CCB Data and Analytics Organization.
The goal of the CCB Data Owner Center of Excellence (Data Owner COE) is to promote a culture of data ownership and accountability within the Line of Business to ensure data is safe and can be trusted for use. The Data Owner COE will define and communicate clear responsibilities and expectations for CCB Data Owners.
Description of Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute training and communication strategies for CCB Data Owners (and others) to ensure that they understand their role and responsibilities
- Develop and implement support, operating models and related tooling to support the implementation of the new Data Owner Center of Excellence
- Develop metrics and reporting for key stakeholders to measure the progress made across this strategic initiative
- Collaborate with Control and Audit functions to ensure our strategies align with Firmwide and CCB policies and standards, as well as relevant regulatory or legislative requirements and controls are properly documented in Firmwide tooling
- Lead and support other priority ad hoc Data Governance initiatives.
Qualifications
Experience and skills to be successful in this role:
- Basic understanding of the importance of data, data risks and data controls
- 3+ years Data Governance, Risk Management, or Controls experience in the financial sector
- Experience with Agile project management practices and SDLC processes
- Proven ability to develop strong partnerships and collaborations
- Experience with defining and implementing a multi-faceted project or program
- Recognized as a team player
- Proven ability to take initiative, influence others, and achieve results
- Strong analytical, problem solving and planning skills
- Comfortable with continuously changing priorities
