VP Director, Social and Digital 

Los Angeles


Golin LA is looking for a VP, Social and Digital Experience to join (and grow) our social and digital team. You will play a vital role as mentor for a team of digital and social media strategists and tacticians, while delivering creative and results-driven solutions for our clients.


This all-encompassing digital leadership role will have you identifying and providing POVs on real-time opportunities, issues and trends, as well as creating and executing large and small-scale marketing campaigns for clients. Your role will include fostering integration among IAT/social/PR teams, driving channel and social strategy for a range of clients, and driving and overseeing content creative to run across a variety of digital platforms (including organic and paid) to drive optimal results.

What You’ll Do:

  • Serve as the social and digital client relationship leader (provide senior counsel, create and manage client budgets, lead the team and our daily work in digital)
  • Own the digital strategy process; proactively identify needs, drive trend research, lead the brainstorms, and develop, pitch and secure award-winning work
  • Regularly share trends and perspective with Golin team and our clients
  • Work directly with account, influencer and analytics teams to develop inspirational multi-channel strategies to help elevate our clients’ brands 
  • Provide strategic counsel and advise on digital/social campaigns and tactics across the ecosystem of paid, earned, shared and owned media
  • Play a leadership role across the agency
  • Oversee work of junior employees across social media strategy, content creation, community management, analytics and more
  • Work with the team to create ongoing compelling content calendars, creative and copywriting
  • When necessary, roll up your sleeves and get into execution mode as both player and coach
  • Take a proactive approach to leading and building business, strategy, and platforms
  • Identify client objectives and learn how to integrate digital and traditional communication strategies
  • Lead and mentor junior to mid-level team members to build a culture of high performance
  • Collaborate in the practice’s management and growth
  • Bring analytics and insights to the table through your own experience, as well as through the broader Golin team

What You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field with 10+ years of experience driving and executing digital / social media / influencer marketing campaigns
  • Impeccable client relationship skills and experience
  • Experience managing large and always on digital/social programs from start to finish
  • Ability to work with vendors and manage small and large scale budgets
  • Ability to galvanize internal teams to approach communications with a “digital-first” mindset
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous situations and navigating challenging situations
  • Strong creative and strategic thinking with the ability to deliver innovative programs and approaches
  • Passion for client service and an ability to juggle multiple projects and changing priorities
  • Experience managing and leading an account team and working with large fully integrated teams
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to execute and measure multifaceted campaigns and day-to-day communications initiatives
  • A strong understanding of traditional media and content marketing strategies, ability to integrate campaign strategies and tactics across earned, owned and paid media, and apply analytics to measure results and provide insights
  • Poise and calm under pressure and a desire to immerse yourself in a client's business to become a true partner
  • Confidence when presenting no matter the size of the group or situation
  • A solutions-oriented mindset
  • A self-starter mentality – you don’t wait for someone to tell you what to do next

Golin has included the base salary range or hourly rate for this role. Actual compensation offered within the range will depend upon, among other factors: a candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience; actual ranges for current or former employees in the role; and market considerations.

Salary range: $120,000 - $200,000
