Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the Technician Operations teams and assist them with the development of their direct reports.
• Hire and develop a Technical Operations planning team to forecast and implement construction strategies ahead of business demand.
• Take ownership of everything that happens and fails in Technical Operations in our North American footprint, Workforce Management, Core networks, Technical facilities, and Customer network technician operations. 
• Enamor our customers by delivering premier network operational performance results.
• Meet or exceed operational service level performance objectives (network reliability, installation intervals, time to repair, unit cost reduction, OPEX & CAPEX budget management).
• Meet TechOps service (commit dates hit, intervals, and production) and financial objectives (NPV, budget) for large and transactional projects. 
• Interface with internal and external customers and the public in line with Zayo values.
• Participate in internal and external customer escalations and drive resolutions.
• Build the Technician Operations team with the talent, skills, and experience needed to meet Zayo's goals.
• Lead and motivate the Technical Ops team to meet service and financial objectives.
• Works collaboratively with internal departments (Operations, Sales, Product, Engineering, Access, Finance, and others). 
• Manage third-party suppliers and negotiate third-party supplier contracts.
• Oversees requests for information and request for quote processes.
• Provide accurate project cost estimates.
• Builds and maintains project capital budgets.
• Meet capital budget targets.
• Manages and reduces OPEX budgets and meets OPEX budget targets.
• Manages multiple and demanding critical priorities. 

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or other related technical discipline and/or equivalent work experience.
• Ten or more years of technical and management work-related experience in the telecommunications industry with emphasis on OSP construction, optical networks, project management, and direct customer interface.
• The individual will manage an organization of hundreds of technical personnel, support teams, and leaders.
• The position will require outstanding critical thinking and decision-making process, the anticipation of risky business situations with deliberate and swift response to same.
• The position will be expected to compose and manage expense and capital budgets in excess of $1M. 
• The individual will be responsible for the prompt delivery of revenue, both from new business and from existing accounts. 
• The position will require some travel and access/availability to serve the needs of the business on a 24/7 basis. 
• The individual must possess outstanding written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills as they interface with subordinates, peers, customers, and vendors.

Base pay range: $163,556- $224,841, commensurate with experience.
