Job Description
Under the direction of the President and CEO, the Vice President of Finance & IT will provide strategic financial leadership for all VISIT Milwaukee operations, administration and financial matters.
The Vice President of Finance & IT is responsible for the direction and fiscal integrity of VISIT Milwaukee and Destination Milwaukee. The oversight and execution of all the financial duties of the organization including: financial statements and reports, financial plans, policies and practices, and forecasts. Directs and manages all aspects of VISIT Milwaukee's information technology infrastructure and telecommunication systems and services. Responsible for the development and execution of the strategic information technology plan, including managing resources and services. Along with the leadership team, the Vice President of Finance & IT will work with the Board of Directors, external accounting firms, creditors, stakeholders, general insurance representatives, investment advisors, record keepers, actuaries, banks and financial institutions. Serves as Corporate Assistant Secretary to the Board of Directors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required education and experience:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in business, with a major in accounting or finance or equivalent experience. Master's degree in Business with an emphasis in accounting, finance preferred.
- Minimum ten years of demonstrated financial management experience, preferably within a non-profit environment.
- Experience with general information technology and human resource functions and familiarity with state and federal employment laws.
- Hands-on network administration experience required.
- Prior management and supervisory experience.
Required skills, knowledge and abilities:
- Strong financial and analytical skills including a working knowledge of accounting/financial procedures, GAAP, budget and audit processes.
- Experience with computerized accounting systems, Paylocity payroll processing, and proficient in Excel
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and a commitment to business ethics and integrity.
- Strong commitment to diversity and inclusivity in the workplace.
- Ability to present to diverse audiences, specifically, racially, ethnically, and socioeconomically diverse communities.
- Must be able to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills and demonstrated presentation skills.
