Position Summary:

The Vice President, Global Operations plans and delivers the organization's operational strategy. This leader will have oversight of Ergotron's manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, facilities, safety and quality functions. The VP, Global Operations will develop strategies and deploy tactics to attain short- and long-term financial and mission-critical operational goals. An essential responsibility includes mitigating supply chain risk to ensure industry leading product availability in every market we serve.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Global Operations Leadership:
    • Collaborate cross functionally to establish comprehensive operational and supply chain strategies.
    • Design, review and own operations budgets, including P&L responsibility in every region.
    • Develops collaborative relationships with cross functional partners in human resources, marketing, product management, sales, industrial design, engineering, finance and business operations to drive effective execution.
    • Understand financial drivers and devise operations plans that optimize profit, cash flow, and meet the evolving needs of Ergotron.
    • Develop organizational plans to strengthen Ergotron's operational performance.
    • Drive a flexible and highly responsive culture able to respond quickly to market forces.
    • Clearly define ownership and responsibilities for top operational leaders.
    • Forecast hiring needs for all operations departments.
    • Deliver quarterly performance feedback to direct reports to drive engagement, high sense of urgency and accountability.
    • Drive timely decisions, ensuring cross-fucntional teams understand strategic direction and priorities.
    • Develop strategies and recommendations (based in sound empirical evidence/data) to solve a variety of challenges - specifically operating profit and revenue.
    • Oversight and management of global operations teams:
      • Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehouse, Manufacturing, Facilities, Quality & Continuous Improvement, Environmental Health & Safety
  • Supply Chain & Logistics
    • Execute best-in-class sourcing and logistic initiatives that enable Ergotron to be the leader in global supply chain trends and manufacturing technology.
    • Develop proactive strategic sourcing plans to prepare for future focus areas.
    • Develop project timelines and milestones, critical path analyses, risk assessments, management plans, cost/benefit analyses, with related budget/costs.
    • Understand and translate the impact of supply chain trends, economic conditions and mega-trends on Ergotron's current and future business.
    • Establishes performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain.
    • Guides and analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company.
    • Develops policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implements subsequent changes to processes.
    • Identifies optimal shipment and transportation routes with attention to consolidation of warehousing and distribution.
    • Oversees inventory investment to maximize fill rates and inventory turns. KPI development, monitoring and Analysis (Sales, Inventory Turns, Forecast Accuracy)
  • Manufacturing
    • Optimize Manufacturing Organization to maximize performance, mitigate risk and minimize costs.
    • Formulates manufacturing policies; forecasts manpower and facilities requirements; maintains inventory controls; develops production time and quality standards
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Develop continuous improvement plans to reduce costs, improve performance, and shape our capabilities in line with the needs of Ergotron.
    • Champion other system improvements to improve performance such as DtV, SIOP, demand planning, Oracle capabilities.
    • Champion lean manufacturing initiatives throughout manufacturing.
    • Develop a culture of using LEAN practices to optimize factory and supply chain.
  • Quality, Safety and Environmental Systems
    • Guide and support a world-class quality system and organization, driving necessary improvements to meet emerging business and quality system requirements.
    • Ensure implementation of a company safety program to assure a safe work environment minimizing and continually reducing employee injuries/illnesses, lost time and related expense.
    • Ensure the work climate and management practices protect our employees in accordance with company's personnel policies, governmental laws and regulations, and customer contractual requirements.
    • Create and ensure a culture of environmental responsibility through recycling programs, environmental safety programs and energy savings.
  • Additional duties as requested.

Position Requirements (Knowledge and Experience):

  • MBA with a bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of industry-related experience including 5 years of executive-level management leading a large operations team across regions outside of the US (North and South America, EMEA, APAC, etc.)
  • Strong experience and understanding of complex, highly engineered components and systems including electrical, software and hardware.
  • Direct enterprise level, general management or product line P & L experience preferred.
  • Experience with a multi site, franchise manufacturing model serving regional global markets.
  • Experience designing and successfully implementing supply chain and operational processes that produce growth while minimizing risk.
  • Experience transforming an operations organization into a cohesive highly performing team required.
  • Must be a strategic thought leader that can see the big picture, establish vision, and articulate a strong plan of execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to create, set, and achieve strategic initiatives that specifically align with organizational goals.
  • Must possess strong analytical skills and the ability to distill complex situations into actionable items.
  • Must possess an open, collaborative working style that thrives in a global, cross-functional, matrix team environment.
  • The ability to inspire, lead and motivate is imperative along with strong understanding of change management best practices.
  • Skilled at designing and using KPI's to provide actionable insights about the business.
  • Experience assessing acquisitions and integrating operations post acquisition.
  • Demonstrated good business acumen and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity, responsibility, determination, creativity, flexibility, drive, and self-confidence
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% and have a valid driver's license and passport.
  • Live within a commutable driving distance of the Eagan, MN headquarters preferred or willingness to travel to headquarters a substantial amount of time.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), Oracle and other key operating systems.
  • Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job as described to you for the position.
