VP, Global Performance Media Lead, Google Ads

About the role
The media team is responsible for planning, optimizing, and shepherding direct response plans throughout the customer journey. This includes integrated planning and execution across paid search, paid social, programmatic, reservation, and other emerging media platforms.
The global performance media lead acts as our client’s senior partner for all performance media activities globally. This role is accountable for the overarching strategic direction and regional implementation to drive incremental business growth for our client through paid media.
This role is supported by a team of more than 50 media experts globally.
Some of the things we’d like you to do:
- Partner with our global strategy lead to translate the client brief into a global growth plan rooted in performance objectives across all paid media channels.
- Direct the regional media teams to deliver on the client's global/regional business KPIs annually.
- Partner with the global activation operation director to ensure that global media activation best practices and compliance are consistently applied and followed across regions.
- Work with our Technology team & media activation team to ensure that relevant automation tools are used correctly and consistently across all regions.
- Develop strong relationships with key clients (global and regional), fostering strong relationships and collaborating to deliver innovative thinking and inform our future activation product roadmap.
- Partner and collaborate with WPP & GroupM B2B experts to leverage and share expertise.
- Showcase thought leadership pieces & POVs throughout the year to galvanize and elevate the role within the wider industry as an expert.
- Be an inspiring and motivational leader, leading by example while encouraging and coaching juniors on the team.
- Lead through vision, values, and model leadership behaviors while championing and facilitating change positively.
- Provide timely and actionable feedback to the team to aid their development, improvement, and progress. Provide awareness and recognition for jobs well done.
- Strong and effective communication across all levels; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships internally and externally.
- Manage regional Google Activation Leads (NA, EMEA, APAC) and coach their teams.
A bit about yourself:
- Proven track record of managing enterprise-level performance media programs globally.
- Proven experience at the VP level in a Digital Media role
- Knowledge of:
- Demonstrated progression in a role managing a staff of 30+ across multiple locations.
- A passion for everything digital, with an active interest and understanding of online advertising industry trends.
- Ability to operate at strategic levels but also able to understand the details.
- Ability to synthesize at executive level complex/details issues.
- Strong understanding of optimization levers & testing approaches
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) are essential in developing client relationships and maintaining efficient communication across the team.
