VP - Head of Strategic Communications

This is a senior leadership role that develops and executes the Company’s strategic communication priorities.  The VP administers and approves all corporate communications including content and message development, global oversight of digital properties, and management of social media.  This role coordinates closely with investor relations, government relations, human resources, and the marketing and law departments. 

Key responsibilities:

• Responsible for the development and execution of strategic communications priorities
• Responsible for developing the overall communications objectives and framework for engaging with the Company’s external stakeholders
• Build broad organizational coalitions to protect and advance the Company’s mission, objectives and reputation
• Principal advisor to the CEO and other members of the executive team on all communication matters
• Develop communications plans and protocols for business continuity and crisis management scenarios
• Leads strategic communications team

Qualifications and experience:

• 15 years of experience in strategic communications roles of increasing responsibility
• Mature senior advisor with personal gravitas
• Demonstrated ability to develop, defend and execute near and long-term strategic communications plans
• Ability to attract, hire, develop and retain a high performing communications team
• Ability to efficiently retain and appropriately leverage external PR support
• Possesses very strong verbal and written communications skills; has a flair for subtle, persuasive writing
• Recognizes the need for and purpose of internal alignment, and develops and adheres to internal alignment processes
• Develops and maintains external relationships, able to steer and influence external opinions tactfully yet effectively
• Crisis and reputation management experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Business or related field, or equivalent work experience is required
• Graduate Degree in Communications, Business or related field, preferred
