The role:
At-Bay is investing to build industry-leading insurance solutions for our brokers and insureds. Join this fast-paced team to help us scale and address a dynamic market. The VP of Insurance Strategy & Operations will be expected to demonstrate a robust understanding of the InsurTech ecosystem and engage with partners across the Company both functionally and regionally to drive scalable growth and optimize outcomes.Â
You’ll work closely with senior management to understand the overall company strategy and align our insurance initiatives accordingly. This involves finding opportunities where At-Bay can grow and improve operational efficiency. Â
Essential Responsibilities
- Work with Head of Insurance and other field leadership to drive and execute At-Bay's overall insurance business strategy
- Develop KPIs for measuring success of business performance - set the objectives and key initiatives
- Maintain revenue model, budget and headcount planning process for insurance org in conjunction with head of insurance and finance; closely monitoring performance and trends.Â
- Build hypotheses and analyze data to generate insights or recommendations around business performance for field leadershipÂ
- Lead and / or support critical operational processes (e.g. Annual Planning, QBRs, etc.), including designing and launching new processes where applicable
- Lead cross-functional initiatives for the insurance team, across underwriting, product, technology, and marketing to deliver relevant growth strategies and solutions
- Develop executive presentations and communications for internal and external stakeholders including investors, board meetings, conferences, etc. Â
Qualifications
- BA/BS required, MBA preferred
- 10+ years of work experience, with experience in strategy, business operations, consulting, investment banking, private equity, or other analytical roles. Insurance experience strongly preferred
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to synthesize, summarize and share insights using data, getting products to market and customer insight
- Excellent communication and presentation skills - ability to communicate effectively across written, verbal and presentation formats to a variety of audiences from project team member to Executive
- Comfortable working independently, and with limited guidance
- Adaptable to a variety of different work and projects based on evolving business needs and prioritiesÂ
- High-level strategic thinking and the willingness to be an active and outspoken participant in decision making
- Highly collaborative and capable of building relationships across functions and teams
- Experience with Powerpoint / Google Slides and Excel / Google Sheets. Willingness to learn and / or experience with SQL, Tableau and Snowflake
