VP, Integration Architect
Job Description
Role Summary/Purpose:
As the Integration Architect - Information Technology, you will play a pivotal technical role within Synchrony Financial in successfully delivering high-quality solutions on time and within budget.
This position is remote, where you have the option to work from home. On occasion we may request for you to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events. Essential Responsibilities:
- Full responsibility of the technical implementation for new business startups, conversions and other Strategic Initiatives
- Knowledge of First Data applications or processing systems
- Technology, process and cross functional, matrixed leadership
- Evaluate, and implement technical products and tools to deliver innovative solutions
- Protect the integrity of the technical processes
- Lead and assist in strategic and tactical planning of IT initiatives in the areas of responsibility
- Review and provide input for high-level design, consider impacts on overall application design and responsible for detailed design review
- Ability to understand technical requirements of projects and effectively manage resources, vendors and test efforts action plans, impact and resolution options.
- Assist with project estimates and plans. Represent new business team in project meetings and solution discussions
- Prioritize tasks for team to focus on critical items and remove roadblocks / constraints for team to move forward
- Communicate the status of technical stacks and initiatives to stakeholders and leadership
- Ability to understand technical requirements of projects and effectively communicate with clients, SYF business, SYF technical and SYF project leadership
- Identify and resolve issues with innovation and client impacts considered
- Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Information Technology OR in lieu of degree a high school diploma/GED and 8 years of IT, Information Security and Project management for card issuing systems, card provisioning, card personalization and issuing authorization experience
- Minimum 8 years of hands on technical experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience with methodologies Support including: Design Patterns, UML (Unified Modeling Language), component architecture, automated unit/functional testing, and/ or database design/tuning
Desired Characteristics:
- Strong working knowledge of the Financial Industry and Consumer Lending
- Strong team leadership experience
- Strong experience in application architecture and design
- Experience in designing and developing applications using current architectures
- Ability to achieve results in a cross-functional matrix organization involving multiple technologies, personnel and processes
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- New Business products and IT application experience
- Experience in mobile, native apps and/or eCommerce applications
- Knowledge of Interchange and On-Us settlement process
- Knowledge of authorization stream of request and response
- Strong business acumen and superior decision-making skills
- Ability to understand technical requirements of projects and effectively provide solutions across multiple applications
- Ability to analyze/use structured problem solving and available tools to quickly evaluate problems, identify root causes, as well as develop action plans, impact and resolution options
- Expertise in emerging technology and trends
- Awareness of IT SDLC project management processes
- Knowledge of Agile project development methodologies
- Awareness of Compliance and Regulatory requirements in credit card acquisition and transaction processing
Eligibility Requirements:
- You must be 18 years or older
- You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
- You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
- New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).

The salary range for this position is 85,000.00 - 170,000.00 USD Annual
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.
