Role Summary:


We are looking to add a highly motivated VP, Security to lead our efforts in Security, compliance and privacy. The VP, Security will be the key contributor to the strategy and vision for the Security, Privacy and Compliance teams and will build the roadmap for the future of how we build security into all parts of the software development lifecycle. The right candidate will have experience and deep respect for security and privacy practices. 


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the IT and security functions for the company, ensuring ongoing technical operations and security compliance 
  • Manage a team of IT and Security professionals
  • Define the vision for security, compliance and privacy across the company
  • Execute the adoption, building, and integration of best-in-class technologies to facilitate efficient analysis and reporting across various business groups
  • Build a team that enables various parts of the business and finds the balance between derived value and our strong privacy and security commitments
  • Drive prioritization, focus and execution in related projects
  • Build a high-performing, scalable organization in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment. This includes hiring, onboarding, mentoring, developing and coaching existing and new team members and managers
  • Uphold the company's strong privacy and security values/policies for use and access to data

Networking – Is responsible for providing oversight to network/security operations to maintain network reliability, integrity, and to ensure standards of compliance are met. Provide leadership and hands on direction to the team function, ensuring the department is staffed properly, and employees have the training and tools they need to operate a best-in-class operation and environment. Act upon network events with a high sense of urgency and customer care to resolve network issues and maintain optimal service levels.


Cybersecurity - This position is responsible for ensuring the company’s network, computer hardware, and data are protected from loss and security breach. Partners with others to implement procedures to ensure business continuity and information security. Will identify, recommend, and implement IT cybersecurity, tools, and equipment for the organization. Seeks to eliminate vulnerabilities with solutions that increase data security and resiliency for the company.


Desktop Support – Support IT team in managing ticket volume/queue via ServiceNow to facilitate excellent customer support. Personally participate in responding to escalated tickets and resolving technology issues and concerns in a timely manner both on-site and remotely. Recommend improvements for operational and workflow efficiency. Support IT Manager in managing end-user IT equipment inventory, laptops, monitors, mobile devices, printers, etc.


What We're Looking For  

  • 10+ years of experience in Security, Compliance and Privacy or other quantitative disciplines, especially during company hyper-growth stages
  • 7+ years of people management experience growing and leading security teams; a proven record of building and motivating successful teams
  • Experience working with teams that employ cloud technologies (eg: AWS, GCP) 
  • Strong communication skills evidenced by having the ability to take complex and technical concepts and present them in a clear and consumable format to a wider and senior audience
  • Excellent at being able to communicate complex analyses and insights to highly disparate audiences with varying technical depth
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills that have been proven by managing big, complex, cross-functional initiatives
  • Loves and embraces change and can influence a variety of teams to embrace that change
  • Deep experience developing successful analytics-based solutions to complex, cross-functional business problems
  • Exceptional critical thinking and attention to detail 

We are located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, however we are open to hiring this position fully remote, with travel opportunities to meet customers and connect with colleagues.

The estimated target compensation for this role is $180,000- $230,000 base salary + bonus and equity.
