VP, Marketing & Product Brands
Job Description
ODP Business Solutions is currently searching for a VP of Product Marketing who will be responsible for driving profitable revenue growth for the company in all channels and market segments. This is enabled by creating an effective marketing strategy (product, brand, pricing) and leading crisp execution. The position reports to the EVP & President, ODP Business Solutions and has direct responsibility for the Merchandising and Marketing functions. In addition, the VP Product Marketing requires influential leadership and strong financial and business acumen, while navigating complex organizations and challenging environments to expand sales and build exceptional teams.
Focus will be on building out the product lines in Cleaning Breakroom Facility Services (CBFS), Furniture, Technology, and exploring new areas for the company with clearly differentiated brand messaging, positioning, and content marketing. The role works in partnership with the senior leadership team to build a roadmap for our products that clearly connects to business value and supports our strategic goals.
Ideal candidates have a passion for leveraging data to solve complex business challenges. In order to achieve success, you must be willing to dive into the details of how we test and source data, build models, and package and distribute our products. Additionally, the role requires understanding the buyers needs and customer personas, to then apply that knowledge to collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver a dynamic product marketing strategy to meet the objectives of the business.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Senior-level leader with a proven track record in product management and product development navigating in a complex and dynamic environment focusing on strategic growth initiatives.
- Partner with Sales, leadership stakeholders, vendors, and others to shape, build-out and flawlessly execute the Brand and Product Marketing plans for ODP Business Solutions, based on overall Company objectives and priorities. Leverage market data, key customer insights (personas), competitive intelligence, and emerging B2B procurement trends to drive brand awareness, increase customer consideration and identify opportunities to drive qualified leads and conversion.
- Identify, sharpen, and evolve brand vision and value through creative communications for all ODP Business Solutions Product Brands and champion the plan while soliciting feedback across key stakeholder group
- Develop and execute marketing and prospecting campaigns, lead generation tactics, sales tools, and compelling audience-specific messages as well as presentations, customer success stories, and videos.
- Lead creation of core value proposition and selling points with input from product management, sales leadership, and field teams to meet market changes, reach business objectives, address competitive threats, and support strategic plans.
- Measure brand sentiment and conduct research to measure the health of the ODP Business Solutions brand. Assess the effectiveness of the marketing programs: provide analytical metrics to support your products on an ongoing basis, and report back to the business on required changes.
- Market intelligence: be the expert on our buyers, who they are, how they buy and their key buying criteria.
- Understand the competitive landscape and positioning with our competitors. Benchmark other companies and keep abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, target audiences, and marketplace changes from a creative perspective.
- Be a strong advocate for the ODP Business Solutions Product Brands with a clear understanding of each unique brand positioning.
Experience/Attributes Required:
- Experienced executive with product marketing and branding experience, with the ability to lead a team and translate research findings and customer insights into innovative product marketing strategies that drive business results in the B2B landscape.
- Strong track record of working cross-functionally to get things done and sees new ways for teams to partner together; equally comfortable talking tech with developers, user experience with designers, copy and positioning with product marketers, numbers with finance, and strategy with executive leadership.
- Demonstrated experience of both analytical and creative abilities; designing and using analytics to make fact-based decisions that improve the effectiveness and ROI of all marketing activities.
- Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to build solid partnerships both internally and externally, as well as the ability to delegate effectively and develop people.
- Prior experience rising through the ranks of product management.
Education:
- Business/Marketing Undergraduate Degree, and MBA highly preferred.
- Minimum 10+ years' experience in product marketing, product, strategy, consulting or marketing with deep customer insight and go-to-market experience
- 5+ years of management experience in developing best-in-class teams.
