Overview

The Vice President of National Accounts is responsible for delivering the on-premise sales strategy to increase business opportunities, earn superior share and generate revenue from chain customers in their RTM universe. This role will be the primary driver of NA commercial KPI's and initiatives ensuring their team leverages all strategic resources to embed SGWS as the preferred distributor with our customers and achieve SGWS and supplier performance goals.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop National Accounts strategy, drive Key Performance Indicators (KPI), targets and goals, and overall growth
  • Build and foster a close relationship with Regional and Market leadership teams
  • Manage and help reporting Directors develop customer relationships with key decision makers; establish and maintain high- level, executive contact with accounts, focusing on the establishment and maintenance of strategic relationships
  • Ensure Commercial Sales Directors monitor and maintain all customer programs on Microsoft SharePoint or future state portal.
  • Recruit, select, orient, and train employees; coach, counsel and manage employees
  • Communicate National Accounts priorities to all relevant commercial teams, including regions, supplier management team, and commercial operations team
  • Work with Customer Development team to drive share of customers' National Beverage programs based on channel, customer, and consumer insights
  • Develop, deploy, and track the execution of national programs across regions to inform Commercial Operations of forecasting and volume commitments, service levels for assigned National Accounts, and monitor compliance

Additional Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop, collaborate, and monitor the Customer Business Priorities to achieve customer centric supplier goals; focus on expanding national and strategic market presence in the assigned National Accounts
  • Act as the liaison with NA Customer service issue resolution such as inventory concerns, price discrepancies, or sales representative concerns; escalate when needed to relevant Corporate, Regional, and State functions to resolve issues
  • Ensure all Directors work with their Customer Development resources to fully leverage our best class data and insights
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree plus ten years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ten years of supplier management experience in the wine & spirits industry
  • Demonstrated experience in direct sales and national account management with key customers and suppliers
  • Five years of demonstrated management experience
  • Demonstrated category management and brand management experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of regulations in major states
  • Understanding of market dynamics and chain dynamics for wine & spirits
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office Suite and software applications related to job functions
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of people at all levels in the organization
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, analytical/problem solving, problem management, presentation development, and communications skills
  • Ability to travel 50% or more

  • Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
