Job Description

Who We Are

Stylitics is the leading visual outfitting and styling solution for the world’s top retailers and brands. Our clients include Nike, Macy’s, Kohl’s, Revolve, Puma, Crate & Barrel, Bloomingdale’s, and dozens of others. Founded in 2011, Stylitics uses a powerful combination of algorithms, trend data, and stylist expertise to deliver millions of on-brand outfit recommendations daily across multiple channels such as e-commerce, email, advertising, stores, and social media. About 100 million shoppers use Stylitics content and technology on retail sites each month to find inspiration, discover new products and brands, and gain confidence in how to style their purchases.

About the Role

The VP of Analytics sets the vision and strategy for how the company and our Fortune 500 brand/retailer customers leverage product, inventory, and shopper data to drive retailer performance, product innovation, program optimization, and personalization. Our world is a B2B2C world, so spotting market-level trends as well as supporting retailer-specific needs will be critical to success in this role.

Your role is one that requires both insights building skills and client communication skills. You will drive the development and adoption of systems, tools and processes that help us better understand why users engage, return, and succeed. Equally as importantly, you will be the lead story-teller and guide through the data, working with product marketing and designers to make sure that insights and trends come to life for every stakeholder.

You will build and oversee a team of Analysts who produce performance insights, multivariate testing, and business intelligence dashboards. You and your team will work, in collaboration with Data Scientists and Data Engineers, to ensure that Product, Sales, and Client Success teams are equipped with insights that power differentiated and personalized products and quantify their impact for customers. This role requires significant cross-functional collaboration with a goal of centering the entire organization around a data-driven, actionable understanding of shopper behavior.

What You Will Do

  • You will grow and manage a mission-critical business unit that is seen as the bedrock of the company’s ongoing success
  • You will be a member of the company’s Leadership Team, helping to determine company-wide strategy and priorities
  • What you build will drive not only client, product and business strategy for Stylitics, but also the strategies of 100+ of the world’s top brands and retailers and the daily experience of millions of everyday shoppers
  • You will get to lead the exploration of a mostly untapped and totally unique data set, encompassing billions of shoppers sessions, $10B+ in transactions, 3,600 brands, and billions of product pairings

Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience in Retail Analytics, Product Analytics, or Business Operations in a B2B SaaS or Fashion/Softlines Retail organization, with at least 5 years’ experience building and running a team
  • Extensive experience in conceptualizing and building insights, dashboarding, and reporting solutions on top of large data sets, ideally within the U.S. softlines or hardlines retail industry
  • Experience in conceptualizing and building ecommerce A/B testing strategies and using common testing platforms like Optimizely, Mixpanel, and Amplitude
  • Proven record of successful metric-driven product impact in collaboration with an engineering team
  • Very strong critical thinking and analysis skills. Ability to take an ambiguous problem, use data-informed brainstorming, identify goals and clear metrics, and drive a team to deliver on those goals
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and enthusiasm for driving change with a collaborative leadership style
  • Strong verbal/written communication & data presentation skills
  • An exceptional ability to ask the right questions and spot issues when looking at data or insights
  • An exceptional ability to present data and insights to end-users in a compelling and digestible way
  • An MBA, MS, or equivalent advanced degree or experience is preferred

The Right Person For This Job

  • Promotes a data mindset and metric-driven culture
  • Delivers fact-based understanding and insights of client usage that are actionable for the organization
  • Engages with stakeholders to build processes and tooling that provide user engagement information to Product, Strategy, Sales, Support, and Clients with goals of optimizing product decision-making and correlating client and prospect activity with long-term value
  • Pushes actionable usage insights to Product teams to drive decision-making and enable a culture of experimentation to drive innovation
  • Equips Client and Product teams with the intelligence needed to understand the actions that lead to engagement and trial conversion
  • Equips Sales with performance and impact metrics and intelligence to improve customer acquisition and upselling
  • Defines a Business Intelligence Reporting strategy to showcase key areas of opportunity for customers
