Position OverviewÂ
We are seeking an exceptional and strategic-minded professional to join our executive team as Vice President of Business Development. In this key role, you will be responsible for leading our technology and business expansion efforts, leveraging your expertise to identify and evaluate strategic technologies and partnerships, pursue collaborations, and seize emerging market opportunities. Your visionary leadership, acutement in assessing the strategic relevance of various technologies, coupled with your ability to foster relationships with key stakeholders, will be instrumental in driving revenue growth and shaping our future success.
What You'll Do
Strategic Vision and Alignment:
- Develop and implement our comprehensive business development strategy in collaboration with the executive team, aligning it with the corporate vision and strategy.
- Create clear and measurable strategic objectives that guide the team in achieving milestones and deliverables.
- Ensure the strategy remains adaptable to changing market conditions, demonstrating an ability to pivot and realign as needed.
Innovative Insight and Adaptability:
- Identify and assess opportunities to expand Ceribell’s platform into new disease areas and use cases, including as a biomarker for drug development.
- Innovatively adapt the technology platform to cater to the dynamic requirements of emerging applications.
- Exhibit the capacity to embrace and champion innovation within the team and organization.
Relationship Building and Collaboration:
- Identify, develop, and manage a pipeline of potential collaborations with biotech/pharmaceutical companies and academic partners.
- Foster collaborative relationships both internally and externally, working cohesively to create synergy among stakeholders including our R&D and Product teams.
- Facilitate business development opportunities by building and maintaining a network of key opinion leaders, industry experts, and potential partners.
Negotiation and Value Optimization:
- Lead deal execution, including negotiation of favorable terms and conditions with partners, ensuring that our company gets the best value for its money.
- Demonstrate strong negotiation skills, with a focus on creating mutually beneficial agreements.
- Maximize value by examining and optimizing various elements within partnership agreements.
Industry Insight and Risk Management:
- Monitor and analyze industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory developments to identify opportunities and risks.
- Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks, employing a risk management approach.
- Provide informed and data-driven recommendations based on an in-depth understanding of industry dynamics.
Leadership and Team Building:
- Build and lead the Business Development team, demonstrating leadership and managerial skills to inspire cross-functional teams.
- Set a clear vision for the Business Development team and lead by example, instilling a sense of purpose.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that promotes innovation and high performance.
What We're Looking For
- A bachelor's degree in business, life sciences, or a related field is required; an MBA or an advanced scientific degree is highly preferred.
- Proven track record of success within the medical device or pharmaceutical industry; experience in identifying and negotiating strategic partnerships preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of drug development and clinical trials in the pharma industryÂ
- Knowledge of the medical device industry, including market trends, regulatory requirements, and the competitive landscape.
- Visionary thinker with the ability to influence and deliver on that vision.Â
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset.
