VP of Content and Communications

About the Job:
LaunchDarkly is looking for an experienced VP of Content and Communications to help lead and expand our strategic storytelling, customer education, and industry thought leadership.Â
The ideal candidate has a passion for aligning content and communication initiatives to awareness and revenue goals and will be held accountable for KPIs and quotas accordingly. You have proven success with building growth-minded, collaborative teams who work well with related product, growth, and creative teams to envision, execute, and measure content programs that fuel demand and position LaunchDarkly as a thought leader.Â
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of content marketing, PR, social media, and video experts who focus on serving our company and community through thoughtful messaging and educational assets
- Develop a comprehensive strategy for best-in-class content to guide the team as we grow our customer content and introduce new content programs to serve our existing and new target markets
- Create unique and compelling company, category, and product/technology narratives to continue to raise our profile and elevate our brand in the market
- Build a strategic Content Marketing Team that will deliver compelling and data-driven editorial and customer content
- Create editorial consistency across all LaunchDarkly customer and prospect touchpoints
- Establish and lead overall external communications strategy—inclusive of public relations, media relations, crisis communications, and social media/community functions
- Develop and advance the strategy and voice for executive communications; including speaking engagements, media interviews, social media channels, and internal communications
- Drive our earned media program across trade, business, and tech publications to maximize LaunchDarkly’s share of voice and brand recognition
- Report on performance of team initiatives to executive leadership
Qualifications:
- Significant content marketing and communications leadership experience in tech - SaaS experience preferred
- Results focused with the ability to evaluate and prioritize initiatives based on context and expected ROI
- The ability to unite various content stakeholders to tell streamlined, impactful stories
- Creative thinker with outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Prior success leading teams through market change and periods of high growth
- Experience in a successful startup or emerging growth technology company that markets to developers is an asset
- Empowers teams, develops employees, and creates an environment where team members are encouraged to take risks and innovate to improve programs, processes, personal skills, and customer experience
- Customer-focused, collaborative, self-aware leader who models and encourages trust, transparency, positivity, and accountability
Pay:
Target pay range for a Level M6: $248,000 - $290,000
*Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), health, vision, and dental insurance, and mental health benefits in addition to salary.
