VP of Contractor Services & Engineering Quality

Location: Must be located in EST and within a direct flight of Rochester, NY

Reports to: SVP of Operations & Product

Job Overview: As the VP of Contractor Services & Engineering Quality, you will be responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, recruitment, deployment, management of contractor resources to support project needs. You will also be responsible for the mentorship and technical guidance of all internal engineering resources. This role demands a dynamic leader with a strong understanding of the system integrator industry, a proven track record in technical resource management (both outsourced and in house), and the ability to drive operational excellence via quality engineering outputs.

What You’re Responsible For:

1. Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a strategic vision for contractor services aligned with the company's overall goals and project staffing requirements. This includes ensuring strong alignment with the Director of Professional Services.

2. Engineering Resource Recruitment, Onboarding, and Deployment: Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and deployment of technical resources to meet project demands, ensuring the right skills are matched with project requirements.

3. Mentorship and Development of Engineering Team: Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and development opportunities for Innovative’s engineering team. Work with each individual and their direct manager to customize a skill development plan suited to their strengths and desired career path.

4. Vendor and Contractor Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and contractors, negotiate contracts, and ensure alignment with project timelines and quality standards. This requires a strong relationship with the Director of Professional Services.

5. Operational Efficiency: Implement and optimize processes for contractor management, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and timely delivery of contractor services.

6. Resource Utilization: Monitor and optimize the utilization of all technical resources to align with project schedules and budget constraints. This includes both in-house technical resources and external agency resources.

7. Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain quality assurance processes to guarantee the excellence of technical quality across our service delivery teams, minimizing project disruptions and issues. This includes working with vendors to course correct when contractors are misaligned with customer expectations and Innovative’s expectations for service delivery.

8. Financial Management: Manage the financial aspects of contractor services, including budget adherence, cost control, and forecasting.

9. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with contractor services, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations.

Requirements of the Role:

1. Proven experience (10+ years) in a leadership role within contractor services or project staffing in the system integrator industry.

2. Must have a technical background in software development, cloud computing, and/or systems architecture

3. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.

4. Excellent understanding of resource allocation

5. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing engineering resources
