The VP of Demand Marketing position will report up through our CMO, and is pivotal for Censys and also plays an important role in GTM Strategy.

Job Description:

  • The VP of Demand Marketing's primary scope and functions within the Marketing discipline are as follows:
    • Strategy and execution of the Censys Global Demand Center, including:
    • Integrated campaigns and paid programs to drive pipeline aligned to revenue objectives
    • Digital media strategy and execution including search (SEO/SEM), display, paid social, and email  
    • Event strategy and execution across both 1st & 3rd party events, including virtual & physical event types
    • Globalization and localization of all applicable campaigns, programs and content
  • Its secondary functions will include:
    • Input into GTM strategy
    • Input into campaign content creation
    • Input into Customer Marketing campaigns
    • Input into insights-reporting and analysis with Marketing Operations

Role Responsibilities:

  • Design a comprehensive demand generation strategy, which includes plans for vertical industry, market segments, and partner alliances
  • Manage a team of experienced demand generation professionals responsible for our portfolio of programs across all channels
  • Partner closely with sales to ensure alignment on strategy, resources, messaging, and KPIs
  • Build and manage best-in-class demand generation programs and optimization of Lead to Opportunity funnel
  • Develop and track comprehensive metrics reports and advise on the effectiveness and future direction of our lead generation marketing campaigns and spending
  • Assist in the development of content marketing and thought leadership programs and materials, and oversee all promotional planning in support of these programs
  • Utilize and enhance all demand generation channels to include SEM, SEO, email, events, content syndication, lifecycle marketing, user conferences, webinars, and customer marketing
  • Partner with marketing ops on key metrics, including marketing performance measurement, budgeting, strategic planning, process definition, and marketing systems & data
  • Provide coaching and development opportunities to team members on effective demand generation tactics and approaches
  • Evaluate, select and manage outside vendors that contribute to demand creation programs
  • Define and manage program budgets

Desired Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of marketing experience, 5+ specific to demand generation
  • 3+ years of experience supporting and driving demand gen for a SaaS company
  • Experience marketing in the Cyber Security ecosystem, specifically marketing to the CISO, BDM and TDM audiences
  • Strong leadership skills, proven ability to build, motivate, and lead team to achieve results
  • Ability to carry a full individual contributor workload in additional to leadership responsibilities; this role will be a player-coach model
  • Proven success in launching and successfully running demand gen marketing programs for early-stage B2B SaaS companies
  • Experience with Hubspot, Salesforce and other marketing automation platforms to generate, capture, nurture, track and report on leads, conversions, and ROI (GONG, DRIFT, 6Sense, Pendo, Wistia, etc…)
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills – must have the ability to analyze and derive meaning from data which you will then translate into actionable changes
  • Excellent writing, communication, time management, and project management skills
  • Passionate about technology – able to dive in and use innovative, next generation platforms and tactics to tell our story
  • Experience with budgeting, media planning, event management, sponsorships, and SEO/SEM

Our target salary range for this role is between $200,000 USD and $230,000 USD + bonus eligibility and equity.

We are located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, however we are open to hiring this position fully remote, with travel opportunities to meet customers and connect with colleagues.
