VP of Demand Generation - #1532
Job Description
MeridianLink is looking for a seasoned VP of Demand Generation to be part of the leadership team within the marketing organization reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer.
This role will be responsible for leading a data-driven, demand generation strategy to generate qualified opportunities through lead generation, new logo customer acquisition, and cross-sell expansion programs.Â
This executive will be a strong digital marketing executive capable of designing and executing integrated campaigns, by partnering closely with the Sales, RevOps, Product, Channel, Product Marketing and other key stakeholders. This role will manage a team of digital marketers, event marketers and an all-bound (inbound / outbound) BDR team.
Key measures of success for this role includes emphasis on increasing awareness, optimizing the lead funnel, growing product demand and building the sales pipeline. The VP of Demand Generation will be accountable for the department’s advertising, events and BDR budgets which may be broad and has a far-reaching impact on the sales pipeline.Â

The VP of Demand Generation requires strategic direction to lead and has a significant impact on the success of the GTM organization. The role will work on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situations or data is required. The role will develop, modify, and execute MeridianLink Demand Generation and BDR strategy that may affect immediate operations and may also have a company-wide effect. The role will develop and follow processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining optimal solutions. The role will translate higher level growth targets into plans, operational processes and guide execution. The role will interact frequently with executives and other key stakeholders within and outside the marketing group.
Expected Duties:
- Will supervise the development and execution of marketing campaigns focused on generating and nurturing quality leads and leading the BDR team to optimize inbound and outbound go to market motion.Â
- Establish demand generation strategy in alignment with overall marketing and sales plans, with emphasis on both demand capture and demand generation to grow the sales pipeline.Â
- Given the wide remit for this role, the executive is expected to be familiar with multi-channel marketing activities including SEO/SEM, digital advertising, trade shows, events, Organic/Paid social, ABM/ABX, email marketing and have a keen sense for building the right blend of these activities to hit pipeline targets.
- The role will continuously optimize the delivery of demand generation and BDR programs, considering changing market conditions, new consumer insights, and emerging opportunities.Â
- Establish key performance indicator metrics, create lead forecasts, and work with Revenue Operations to develop dashboards to track performance and deliver on committed outcomes.
- Expected to maintain a demand generation budget and analyze the results of demand generation efforts on sales pipeline, revenue, and return on investment – develop a long-term model to optimize against metrics like cost per lead and cost per opportunity.
- Responsible for acting as the communication liaison to higher-level management to advise improvements, necessary changes, progress, etc. to help the company achieve its goals.Â
- Responsible for collaborating with the various teams to build messaging, positioning, and narrative for various audiences and channels.
Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, business administration, or equivalent experienceÂ
- 10+ years’ experience in a marketing leadership roleÂ
- Previous background in SaaS software market a significant plus
- Direct experience leading a BDR/SDR team.Â
- Ability to follow objective-based assignments and determine & secure resources to meet schedules and goals.Â
- Ability to establish operational objectives, policies, procedures, and work plans and delegates assignments to subordinates.Â
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce.com, HubSpot, 6Sense, Outreach.io is a plusÂ
- Ability to execute financials, business planning, organizational priorities, and workforceÂ
- Ability to develop and manage multiple strategic initiatives, own the outcomes and deliver resultsÂ
- Required to recommend changes to policies and established proceduresÂ
- Ability to effectively communicates and present results and recommendations across disciplineÂ
- Ability to interact regularly with lower and/or senior management on matters concerning several functional areas, departments, and/or customersÂ
- Ability to persuade others in sensitive complex situations while preserving relationshipsÂ

Salary range of $184,200 - $260,000. [It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range.] The actual salary will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law including geographical location.
