About the VP of Engineering role: 

We need a talented and experienced leader to help build and scale Vic.ai’s engineering team. Reporting to the SVP of Engineering, you will own the Engineering function which is a global team of 40+ engineers who are responsible for all of Vic.ai’s platform. In addition, you will work closely with your team and business stakeholders to define and implement a healthy and progressive product and technology strategy that improves our reach and impact on the business.

You will be responsible for positively impacting our organization by promoting best-in-class engineering practices, delivering on the technical strategy and roadmaps, regularly assessing the technical state of teams, advocating for standard methodologies broadly, and providing focused mentoring to your talented team.

What you’ll do:

• Lead the delivery of our product and technology roadmap
• Architect and ship high-quality software into production
• Manage, mentor, and develop the team
• Assist with research and provide direction on how to build/develop certain specific features or achieve a similar result with the right quality and speed
• Join the management team and work closely with our SVP of Engineering and other senior leaders to set the direction for our product and technology roadmap
• Continuously improve our engineering organization
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure that our technology solutions are aligned with our business objectives
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including technical and non-technical audiences
• Understand business objectives and how those relate to technology opportunities and tradeoffs
• Lots of experience as a full stack developer, preferably with functional languages - 10+ years
• Expertise in branching/versioning development methodologies like Gitflow, trunk, and feature
• 10+ years working to create FinTech applications
• Expert in cloud deployment to AWS
• Backup DevOps resource for IaC
• Working with Sr. Project Managers to manage developers to ensure that project tasks are getting done in a timely manner
• Jira/Confluence
• 5+ years managing Full lifecycle SDLC for Agilish, and Scrumish methodologies
• Ability to work with Product Team to enhance requirements and acceptance criteria

What you'll need:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• At least 15+ years of experience in software development, with at least 7+ years in a leadership role
• Strong leadership skills and a passion for mentoring others
• Strong technical background and hands-on experience with a variety of different coding languages
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team of engineers
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to be creative and drive innovation
• Ability to think strategically and translate business goals into technical solutions
