VP of Engineering

Essential Job Duties

BambooHR is looking for a Vice President (VP) of Engineering who is ready to fill an exciting role in shaping and executing the technical vision of customer experiences that span the product and sponsoring a culture of engineering innovation, continuous improvement, and velocity. Bring your extensive experience in leading teams dedicated to building, scaling, and innovating with Software as a Service (SaaS) products. Through deep partnerships with product, design, data science, marketing, and operations you will have a direct, tangible impact on a rapidly growing product, team and company.

We will look to you to

• Develop the company's technical vision for UI, workflows, and reporting experiences that span the BambooHR product. 
• Drive an iterative execution strategy that aligns with overall business goals and best of breed expectations of SaaS.
• Stay up-to-date on industry technology trends, incorporating relevant innovations and processes that will offer the greatest impact.
• Hire, develop, and lead world-class Directors and Sr managers who foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in the engineering teams.
• Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) of engineering velocity, implementing changes when needed to streamline and optimize development processes.
• Oversee the development and iterative release of product features, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and with the highest quality standards.
• Collaborate with strategic partners across the company to define and prioritize features, enhancements, and minimize technical debt.
• Deliver presentations updates during company, board, and organizational meetings.

What You Need to Get the Job Done

• B.S. and an advanced degree in a technical field required (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, etc.).
• 15 years of experience leading and growing engineering teams building SaaS based solutions with expertise in vision and strategy development, product lifecycle, budgeting, and incident response.
• Experience with cloud-based technologies and scalable architecture.
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically and translate strategy into actionable plans.
• Strong executive level verbal, visual, and written communication skills. Ability to clearly communicate ideas, recommendations, and implications to a variety of audiences.
• Proven success working closely with Product Management, contributing to the product strategy and helping to successfully deliver on the product roadmap
• Exceptional leadership and talent development experience.
