VP of Engineering (Development Studio Lead) (Remote)

We're looking for a dynamic leader to bring our Development Studio to new heights.

As the VP of Engineering (Development Studio Lead), you will serve as a visionary technology leader for our engineering team and most significant clients. The culture, internal structures, and processes you create will positively impact our clients while allowing our experienced team to thrive. You will possess a natural ability to create solid relationships and alignment both internally and externally.

Our ideal candidate will have an engineering background paired with technical leadership experience. You will have experience managing highly technical team members and have a passion for building defined yet agile team structures and processes.

Some of the things you'll do in this senior-level role include:

• Establish an SDLC (software development life cycle) and standardize best practices
• Build a strategy to grow the development studio team's expertise and technical footprint
• Work with the clients to manage project expectations and navigate relationships
• Collaborate with the executive team to align the development studio strategy and execution plan to the company vision
• Collaborate with other studio and industry leads to align priorities

Responsibilities

As the Development Studio Lead, you will:

• Provide strong leadership. You know how to lead a team of highly respected, experienced technologists. This includes both visionary leadership as well as more tactical and functional leadership duties such as performance reviews and 1x1 coaching.
• Directly support clients. You'll be working closely with some of our largest corporate clients and building strong relationships with their internal technology teams. You'll be responsible for providing technical guidance and leadership where our clients need it most.

• Plan for now & the future. Part of this role will be ensuring we have the right people and processes to serve our clients today as well as appropriately planning for the future.

• Translate technical challenges. You'll be working most closely with technologists, but will also need the ability to translate technical projects and challenges into business language both for our internal stakeholders and clients.

• Ensure we have strong best practices. You will ensure excellence in areas such as security & compliance, quality engineering and documentation.

What you'll need

• Preferred 10+ years of related experience in a technical role.
• 5+ years of experience leading technologists and technology projects.
• Experience in client relationship management.
• Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience).
• Stellar project management and time management skills.
• Amazing communication skills.
• Innovator's mindset.
• Knowledge and experience in building technology products.
• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Google Cloud, etc.).
